The black is very vivid, not washed out at all. The embroidery is lovely. I bought it for a wedding and like other users said, the chain did get caught in my hair. So I removed the chain and replaced it with a wrist strap from an old camera. It can also be easily used as a clutch. Yes the top is a little stiff but who cares. How often do you have to go into your purse during a night out.? Not even a factor for me. I love it and it will go great with my black and white outfit and will be useful for other occasions in the future, I'm sure.

I bought this for a wedding and liked that I could use it as a clutch or have it hang. I went to sling it over my shoulder and the chain automatically got caught in my hair and I had to rip it out. It automatically just became a clutch, and that is fine. If you have your hair up or are bald, you could put it over one shoulder, but I do not recommend using it that was if your hair is even slightly down or cross wearing it. I got many compliments on it and was great for what I needed it for. I do recommend it, just needed to warn people about the hair issue.

The chain is removable so you can use it as a purse or a clutch. It has lots of room which doesn't appear to be big from the outside. This is definitely my new go to clutch for whenever I go out.

Chain was hanging over lace jacket and got entangled. Not sure lace jacket is salvageable. Got first one untangled but in the process it got tangled to three more places.
