Perfect for a Weekend Warrior!
Worked great!I ordered the miter box to handle some simple repetitive cuts with the matching Stanley Back Saw. I don't have a need for a large miter saw so this was my only option really. I definitely recommend mounting it to a solid surface.Made nice straight cuts, I did end up using a longer fast cut saw in place of the back saw, also no problem there.Clamps worked nicely, they flexed with bowed pieces which made me nervous but it was a tight hold. I did like the cam design, genius way to hold irregular pieces. Nice pocket to hold them while adjusting the work piece and a pencil hole. Someone at Stanley did some serious thinking when designing this!Only thing I wish for would be more mounting holes. Three provided, one at each end and one in the middle.

Best miter box ever
The only problem with this miter box is that I should have bought it sooner. I had my old Stanley miter box for years. It got the job done with a few drawbacks. I came across this miter box while searching for ideas on Pinterest and I’m so glad I did. It has made a big difference due to the holes and pegs. After placing the molding in the box for cutting, the pegs are inserted to stabilize the board For cutting and it worked Great! It kept the wood in place for a perfect cut. Best idea ever!!!

Works well - not durable
This works very well for the occasional project. We used it for a woodworking project for 7 kids and it's already becoming inaccurate due to wear. Works OK for the price I paid and I will concede that the kids had something to due with its impending demise.

Worked great once with a hack saw
I bought this to cut metal parts on a shower door install. This worked great with one exception. I had used it with a hack saw and metal blade and it had wore away the plastic to the point where it won't cut straight anymore. I had to toss it out after I had completed my project. I would still consider getting it again if needed.I really liked the simple clamp system. You twist the black rods to tighten the item in the clamp. Nothing moved when it was clamped down.

Good Tool
I needed to do a bunch of base boards for the house and this little guy was perfect for the job. If you use an actual mitre-box back-saw, the back won't let you cut through the bottom. The cam-action piece holders work well too and are a nice assist. I had a wood worker's bench on-site and the lip on the one bottom edge allowed my to clamp it to my workbench. Perfect! The piece holders held my pieces and the bench clamp held the box. This thing was quick and easy and I'll use it some more.

very good for small projects
I bought this mitre box for use in installing exterior trim on two doors and 6 windows. It works much better than a piece of crap I bought at Home Depot a couple years ago, and I'm glad I gave it a chance. I would feel confident using it on my whole house for various projects involving trim,casing,baseboards,etc... it probably doesn't hurt that I have e decent saw (purchased seperately at Lowes). Very good for the DIY weekend carpenter. Probably awful if you're a pro and do this for a living.

The missing puzzle piece
So happy I purchased this! My old mitre box did not have any plugs/guides and, though it worked great for straight trim, I needed to cut some crown molding for a column. The guides included with this box held the wood in place so that I could make the perfect angled cuts.
