Great for review/learning IFR
I am working on my IFR rating and between this book and the ASA Oral Exam book, they both were very helpful. This is a great summary of all you need to know and the most important points regarding general aviation. Highly recommend.

another valuable asset in the cockpit
never disappointed by this author, I carry pilots rules of thumb in my kit with a paper sectional. This although larger than the other books is a great reference

This is a great book for a pilot getting his/her instrument rating
This is a great book for a pilot getting his/her instrument rating. I still refer to it sometimes since I fly in the IFR system. I also run a flight school and promote this book to our students.

These books don't have Glass cockpit information.
These are useful, however, they are very expensive!!!A lot is basic review of instruments, but not the latest, like the glass cockpit. Let's take the Garmin 1000. No information what so ever is available here. Operation of an autopilot, which is a must in IFR flying is non existent. General formulas and guidelines are okay, but much more is needed.
