Great Thermometer
Great thermometer. Works well. Got especially to get my tea to the proper degree. Love the clip that I can attach to the pot which is adjustable up and down. Easy to use.

You get what you pay for
So far i have used it 3 or 4 times and it worked just fine. The good thing i like is that it is simple to use. The bad is that the one i got turns on when it is on "off" position and it turns off when it is on" on" position. As annoying as it is i struggled finding contact of the seller and i had to use it right away so i never returned it.

(updated - no longer works) A pain to set the temp - also, power button is mis-labeled
(update) originally gave this three stars, and a few weeks later, it died out of the blue. Just shows HHH for the temperature reading, and can't reset it. I've seen other posts that this is an issue with the probe, and as such, recommend avoiding This works really well, it's just an incredibly slow process to set your target temperature. You have to change the setting a degree at a time. Even holding down the temp set button doesn't really change it quickly. It needs a way to jump 10 degrees at a time. Also, the on-off switch is mislabeled. On mine, to turn it off, you flip the switch to ON, and vice versa So, in the end, this works, and is priced right, but it's definitely got some quirks.

Works but seems flimsy
I bought this digital thermometer specifically for use in making yogurt. I liked that it had a built in alarm to notify me when the milk had reached the purifying heat temperature and then could be reset to also notify me when the temperature and dropped down to the level where I could add the starter and start the fermentation process. After I put in the batteries and checked out the unit and it worked fine, but later when I tried to turn it on to use it to get a new batch of yogurt started it would not go on. I worked with it a bit and I can't honestly say what managed to get it going but it started working again and the unit worked as promised and expected in getting the milk ready to become yogurt. I can't say with certainty how long this unit will last but if it goes out within a short amount of time I will edit this review to let you know. I'm going to give this product a 3 start rating because of the initial problem but down the road a bit I may take those 3 starts either up or down depending on the longer term use of this thermometer.

Best one I've owned
I've owned two other brands and this is by far the best quality thermometer for about the same price as the others. Rugged digital controller and rugged, metal mesh wire. Wire is plenty long, too. I wish it had the capability to be a timer and Thermometer at the same time, but I just use a separate timer.

Good product, can't just measure the temp, have to set a goal temp
Pros: Both a timer and a thermometer. Temp can be set so you know when your food has reached the right temp. Long cord to allow oven to close and unit to reach cabinet. Long probe that is easy to clean. Cons: I haven't found a way to just monitor the temp. It seems you have to set a goal temp. Once the food reaches that, an alarm goes off. The only way to silence the alarm is to turn it off or set the temp higher. While I have only used this a few times, I am having trouble getting the probe to just measure the meat. It may be measuring the air temp. I'm hoping it measures the lowest temp, if so, it will work great. I just need more practice. I believe it is user error.

Does not work, very inconsistent readings
It just doesn't work. I've changed the battery, no improvement. It reads much higher than the actual temperature in my oven. I purchased this so I could have an outside the over visible temperature reading. The non-electric thermometer inside my over works fine, and shows an actual temperature. This one is up to 50 degrees off, and just very inconsistent.

NOT for yogurt making
Mine was defective - I could not fit the probe through both of the clip holes. (Correction: the vendor sent me a picture of how to bend the clip so that the probe fits in the holes. I didn't get to try this solution, but I've posted the pic here). I guess I could have bent it a bit to force it, but then it wouldn't clip securely. This is really a meat thermometer - it sounds an alarm when you go from a lower temperature to a higher goal temperature. The alarm will sound off if you exceed the goal temperature as well. It does not work as a cool down thermometer, that is, the alarm will sound incessantly while the boiled milk cools down to 110F. It's probably good for cooking meat - I did not try it or check the calibration.
