Don't buy from Deal Targets
Don't buy from Deal Targets. It is better buy directly from unifi Canada online store and cheaper. Retrun policy also good with warranty. I returned switch due to some performance issue and i lose arround $150.

Expensive but nice
I needed a 2.5gb managed POE switch at least a couple of 10gb sfp+ ports, this was the best of a limited selection. This properly powered by 2.5gb access points with no issue. Testing the bandwidth yielded exactly as expected, I was able to fully saturate 6 of the 2.5gb ports at 2.5gb, 2 of the 2.5gb ports at 1gb, and the two 10gb sfp+ ports at almost full speed with no issue at all. I would have filled all 8 ports with 2.5gb devices and tested, but I do not have that many 2.5gb devices.Utterly silent, this switch allows for management either via ssh or via the Unifi Network system (application/VM are free, Unifi Cloud Key as bought option). VLAN tagging was not simple to make cooperate with an older Cisco switch using dot1q , but was able to manage with some significant effort. This switch offers a lot of integration in a fully Unifi environment, but does not natively communicate well with non-Unifi switches/routers/firewalls in the sense that things like VLAN tagging are native inside the Unifi environment, but require manual CLI configuration for non-Unifi devices. It will definitely do these things well, once configured. This switch runs warm when at capacity, but not uncomfortably so. The metal body works as a natural heatsink just fine, and the silence is appreciated in comparison to the larger switches I work with in some locations.Expensive for ten ports, but blazing fast.

Fantastic and very fast - NOT overheating at all
No problem with overheating. Yes, it is warm but that's it. I run Ethernet over Fiber directly into this unit from our Playstation and computer gaming with blisteringly fast speeds, sustained at over 2Gbps.Wonderful build quality and plug-and-play simplicity in our Ubiquiti router. (SDM SE)One strong recommendation, stay within the same manufacturer for communication data between router, access point, and switch - and everything will be MUCH smoother. In this case, it is plug-and-play!I am very happy with this unit, it has not crashed at all, super stable - 24hr up time - and as I said it is blisteringly fast

Overheating frequently
I am a huge fan of Ubiquity equipment. Unfortunately, this particular unit overheats frequently and requires a restart for it to start functioning again. I've put a small fan next to it and that seems to help the issue - but I really feel that shouldn't be necessary. I keep my office at 72 F or lower and it isn't sitting in the sun or exposed to any heat sources.
