Julius-K9 Powerharness, 3, Earth

I generally like these harnesses, but I need to buy a new one every 1 to 2 years because the plastic clips keep snapping. I have just ordered my fourth one in a 5 year span.

If your dog can get out of it, you're probably not putting it on correctly. I will admit, the instructions are not very good (non existent) and it's not super intuitive on how it all should go properly, but it's also not rocket science. I wish that it was easier for the seller to advertise custom velcro patches through Amazon with the sale of a harness, it would be beneficial for them.That being said, I went with black, and glow in the dark labels for both my pups, and English Bulldog (size 2) and an EBD/Boxer mix (size 1.) I love the big O-Ring on the back for clipping in the leash, the handles are nice, and the harness slips over the head with ease. Long gone are the days of having to pick up my dogs by their front legs and hoping they would stay still while I slid a harness loops through their legs, what a joke that was! I can get my dogs ready to go outside in less than 30 seconds, what was maybe a 2-3 min ordeal prior to this harness.I get compliments on them all the time, and both my boys look handsome and official. I've used the handles to pick them both up and pull them out of brawls at the dog park. I will say, the big one (75lbs) was able to houdini out of his harness, but I've since tightened it up, and it has not happened again. I believe I left way more wiggle room than I should have, but that plays back into the beginning of my review! I would order another one in a heartbeat... and I did.

Let's cover the negatives first. The only whines I have are that the band covering the chest isn't padded, and it's hard to get to perfectly adhere so there are no wrinkles. NOW let's go over the pluses! This velcro under the strap really helps. Brutus usually gets caught up on things while he's rubbing against them and this feature has really helped with that. It isn't super strong but that's good as it's nice to be able to grab the handle in a pinch and not worry about it not coming loose (* Such as if he sees something he REALLY likes and tries to run a bit) Next up is the color. The overall shade is nice and bright and really is eye catching. I picked this blue so it would stand out if I needed to see him quickly. Works great! The ring for the leash clip is amazingly strong and while it seems just a hair back does a great job and I don't feel like ti will snap off if he uses his might. The clip and strap combo make taking this off and putting it on very easy yet sturdy and hard to adjust from the dog pulling. My last harness he'd stretch himself and it would loosen on it's own. Overall this is a great harness and very well built guys. BUY IT! And for the English Bully owners, it's great for their awkward fit. Just have a gander!

I ordered the size 0 for my 40 pound Sheppard mix puppy/9 month old and it fit perfect! I don't understand the negative reviews about dogs slipping out of the harness unless they didn't fit it proper to their dog or they didn't handle their dog properly, your dog can't or shouldn't slip out of this harness and I don't have the harness super tight. The strap in the front that has the reflective strip hits right above the front legs so it doesn't impede the dogs gait or add restriction to movement, I didn't have to adjust this strap but I can see if i adjust tighter it can sit higher up on the dog and the strap that goes underneath that has the quick release buckle I adjust some to fit snug around the chest but without restricting breathing for my dog. I had been using a sensation harness and my dog likes this one better not having the leash clipped in the front of the neck, but She pulls a little more on this hardness but she is still in the puppy training mode still.

This harness met all of my expectations, even after hearing raves about it from other dog owners. We have English bulldogs who can be difficult to fit, but we ordered according to the size measurements provided, and with a little adjustment of the straps, it fit perfectly! It doesn't slip like other harnesses we've used, and it seems to be comfortable (our boy wore it all evening and took a nap wearing it). I love the handle on the top to make it easier to get them in the car. And although I would prefer that it didn't say "Julius K-9" in large letters on the side, I like that it's reflective in the dark (I know I can get a personalized strip to go in that spot; I'd just prefer that it was a reflective strip rather than lettering. Plus now people are assuming my dogs are named Julius! LOL). It's easy to put on and take off, which says a lot based on some previous ones we had that were like puzzles. With an excited dog, that's a definite plus. We ordered the one to test it out and see if we like it, and we are now ordering a second for our other dog. It's great to attach to the child safety seat clip in the back seat to protect them while in the car. All in all, a great purchase.

Wow this harness is such a change from the regular Y shaped harness I got at the store. I bought this to use with a 6 month old puppy who’s fairly big for her size and is going through leash training. I feel like it has helped with the pulling and tugging on her walks and holds up better than the “pinching” that happens on the back rings with traditional harnesses. Not to mention it looks super cool on her. Ordered the multi color(?) and was expecting pink because that was the picture but I got a red one. Not a big deal but I wish they were clear with this. Sturdiness is also a great plus because we are training in the leash and putting her harness on leads her to biting holes in them which she can’t do with this one. Really happy with this buy.

My pup will be a year old this month on the 12th. While he was growing I bought a couple of other harness's and he HATED them... they went over the head and then straps under his front legs. They always seem to ride up under his front legs. This is a much better harness, with an adjustment across the chest that doesn't have to be undone each time you put it on. And the webbing on the back sits away from his front legs. This is a nice harness. I've only had it a couple of weeks so I can't comment on how well it will hold up but appears to be made well.

Today I was out in a field walking my Black Lab in a field and my dog disappeared for a brief second and when I got to him what I had not realised was a disused canal that was full of water.He was scrabbling to get out but it was a concrete edge he had fallen in. It was a shear drop and he could not get out . I had to get onto met stomach and slide down embankment I could reach his ear grabbed it to bring him closer to me and caught hold of his handle of his harness. How I found the strength to pull a wet lab out, who when dry weighs 30kg I do not know but I got him out. Shaking like a leaf I crawled up embankment with the help of him. Called my husband to come and get us . He had scrapped his front claws right down on the concrete edge,and I've got scrapped elbows and knees! But all in all he is ok when we got him home we showered him down. We are sat at home now, he has recovered and he seems ok but myself I think I needed a stiff whisky!

We bought this for our 6 month old GSD mostly to keep him secure in places like the car. We were able to fit him with a size 2 on the smallest setting which was great because this should hopefully fit him even as an adult. We use the harness whenever we go to a place where we know he will get over excited as the handle makes for much easier holding of him steady and means he isn't choking himself like he can sometimes do when we just have his lead attached to his flat collar. The clip and strap feel secure and when fitted correctly he shouldn't be able to back out of it. We have also ordered some bespoke name patches from the Julius K9 website so I'm looking forward to those arriving in the next few weeks.

My husband had been eyeing this harness ever since we got our now 7-month puppy but they were so expensive that we couldn't really justify buying it. So, we got a different harness that was great, while it lasted... Our puppy decided that it was the best chew toy and managed to open a hole on the chest in a few weeks so I figured this was the perfect excuse to splurge on a Julius K9 harness. We are incredibly happy with it as it's super easy to put on and she is always comfortable in it. The quality is fantastic and I can see it lasting for a long time. Putting on her is a breeze and she actually gets excited when she sees it and knows exactly what she needs to do to put it on. Don't bother with a different harness, you won't regret getting this one.

I have a 10kg french bulldog and he has had the Julius K9 brand harnesses since he was a puppy. I’ve never had any issues with these harnesses until I bought this one from Amazon. My dog has now managed to escape out of this harness on 4 occasions now!! If he pulls too hard after seeing something the Velcro strap which goes across the chest literally comes off! We spent a lot of money on this harness for it to be completely unsafe and put our dogs life in danger! For this reason I believe the harnesses being sold via Amazon are counterfeit as I have never had any issues with the Julius K9 brand before. There was a investigation on these harnesses on BBC’s fake Britain which a friend told me about after telling her about my dog managing to get out of his harness. Please please be aware before purchasing this harness via Amazon and go direct if possible to avoid the same happening to you. It is unclear from Amazon if these are genuine or not.

I needed a new harness for my larger-than-average Yorkshire Terrier (15.5lbs) as the current has undoubtedly seen better days. I’ve seen these Julius on numerous dogs while out a walk (so they must be a popular brand). I decided to purchase due to the vast amount of current reviews (23,000+ 83% 5 star).Unfortunately, after carefully measuring the chest circumference, he was between sizes, so I thought it was better to go for the larger size as I could tighten it to fit. The harness is rather large and doesn’t fit well (S-Mini). The poor fit could easily cause friction and irritation and overall not be secure. I had to send it back not only because of the size but because Amazon/Seller sent an already used product with visible white hair, which is unacceptable for the price and the plastic pouch being in an open state.It seems to be well constructed. It fits nicely in the neck; however, the chest strap hangs down regardless of how it's adjusted. I liked the feature of the ability to attach velcro signs to the sides as he’s not overly keen on being touched by strangers but is not aggressive but will shake out of fear. Not many harnesses feature this.If your dog is in between sizes, I’d recommend going down a size and inspecting the item as you could receive the item in a used condition which I unfortunately did.I intended to purchase the smaller XS/Mini-Mini to see if this improves the overall fit. If it does, I’ll change my current review to reflect it.
