I absolutely love this gel. As an ultrarunner and endurance athlete, I am always on the lookout for gels that provide enough calories for long day in the mountains or trails. Lots of calories with almost 200 / gel. The consistency is great - especially during cold winter days here in the northeast. My favorite part about the gel really is how it's a good pick we up and provides sustained energy, and they are tasty! I've rescued some long runs using this gel!

I tried the Unived Berry Blast and the Vanilla Sea Salt flavored gels during the Chicago Marathon and was surprised. Yes, I know the wisdom of not trying anything new on race day, but I wanted something other than the basic gels out there. I’ve had enough Gu’s and others over the years and I don’t like the taste. Cold weather and Gu’s don’t mix. They also tend to have 20-25g of carbs per gel, which means you’d probably need 3 an hour. The Unived gels have 45g per packet, and it’s around 2.5 oz so the gels are bigger than what you’re used to.The upside for me is the taste. I’m not a berry flavor guy, and these were good tasting. Better yet, they were liquidy enough for me to easily consume while slightly dehydrated. And with winter coming, I could take these out and not have to worry about them becoming solid chunks like Gu’s do.The price is $2.50 per pack and it seems a lot but then Maurten gels are $4 each and have 25g of carbs. And as a bigger runner, I need more carbs and calories than most. Two of these per hour helped me moved faster than I expected. I’d gladly buy again.

Amazing product

Love these gels. They help me achieve my fastest runs and help me push to my goals. Unfortunately one of them was broken when I opened the box. This has happened twice now. It seems that sometimes they burst at altitude. I live at 6,000' so i guess this is the reason why sometimes they pop... Unfortunately I ordered this batch for a 50 mile trail race and don't have the time to ship back and swap for a new box. Hopefully they can figure out how to keep this from happening in the future.

The gel works wonderfully but tastes disgusting. I ate this during a running race recently where I was in between water stations and that was a big mistake as it felt like it was burning my throat. I'm definitely going back to the mandarin flavor.

As an ultra marathon and trail runner, unived elite gel is superb fuel for my training and racing. The flavor is great. The gel provides the calories, electrolytes, and lactic acid buffers that I need for multi-hour events.

Long distance runner: No GI issues, very noticeable result in performance post-ingestion, good texture, very good flavor! I have ordered 2 boxes, and will continue using this product for all my endurance events.

Like a whole cup of portable coffee in a gel. Always carry one during ultra races.
