Downhill mastery. Uphill battle.
5 stars because if you want to feel like you're on rails going downhill, this is probably the tire for you...It's actually really difficult for me to explain the characteristics of the tire without being straight and to the point. In my experience, it is an excellent downhill tire while being an average more or less in climbing capability. In the downs, you really get a sense of thrill and grip for just about all terrain, and I'm sure the ride gets even more exciting with the 3C compound. One thing I hadn't tested was tire pressure... I would always run these at 18-20psi and never cranked up the air. I really wish I would have bumped up the tire pressure to see how it rides, despite it sitting in my garage. Putting it back on doesn't sound to thrilling for me being that most of my riding is climbing and the casual downhills that come with the trail on my Trek Fuel EX8. Plus, I'm riding a 21.5" XL frame and I'm 6'1, just to give you some stats.I highly recommend this tire for going downhill, but when it comes to climbing it just doesn't have that bite and tread pattern for when you're hammering and wrenching down on staggering, rock and steep paths.Hope this helps you out in your decision! I'll be back with an update if I happen to get that tire back on.

Exceeded expectations
I expected this tire to make a difference. My expectations were high. This tire substantially exceeded all of that. Several times when I KNEW I was going over, into the bushes, I could feel the tire hold on. They feel somehow feel soft (in a good way) yes super tough at the same time. My biking skill and confidence jumped immediately. I had a hard time spending this much money, but they are worth the price.

Great tire
Awesome tire. Beefy sidewalks and great traction for hardback, loose over hard, somewhat for loose. Having this fat tire on the front of my bike instills a lot of confidence and you can run them tubeless really low for great traction and action in rocks, they bouce like little basketballs

Great Tubeless Tires
I was running the Maxxis DHR triple-compound on the rear, but trying the dual compound. So far I am very happy. The triple compound was great and lasted a long time, but I thought I might be able to get even more miles out of the dual compound. I have a DHF mounted on front. This is a great combo for riding the rocky trails in Colorado.

One hell of a tyre
I am still riding this on my sons bike and it has been on for the past two years. great in the area we ride rocky desert. Tubeless setup is easy and makes it that much better.

Great for the downhill
Get on the downhills and in the turns but I do slip a little bit in the steep climbs. Overall great tire.
