MK Essentials 1G 13A Switched Fused Connection Unit with NEON

This item arrived safe and well packaged.This switched fused socket works exactly as expected. Fresh out of the box it wires straight into the existing socket. The detailing seems to add an extra little something to this. It's not your basic switched box for sure. They're an upgrade worth taking too.I highly recommend this product.

As one would expect from a well established and reputable company this is a well made unit. It looks smart and works well, but the big bonus with this switch is that the outer cover will just snap off (leaving all the electrical connections still safely covered), so when decorating it can easily be removed and replaced without having to turn of the power. While this is not cheap, you might well consider it a price worth paying for the convenience and being backed by a reliable brand.

The hidden fixing screws I guess may appeal to some but on a big job it means keeping them safe while decorating or the second fix.I prefer their Logic range which are cheaper and are made in the UK.I also recall when ones with flex outlets had different type of terminals best suited to stranded flex. That seems to no longer be the case.

I like the MK Essential range, and they are all themed to look identical and give a long-lasting professional look.I found this switch to be an excellent replacement for an old immersion heater, as this has a flex cord coming out of the front.Now my sample came loose with one screw fallen out of its hole. Not a problem to re-fit, but I feel this is not a good thing if opened and not noticed. A small screw is easy to lose.The neon was not connected or located to where to be connected, and there are no supplied instructions or details.

This product is great and high quality, with a 25 year guarantee attached to it, making me feel confident it will last at least 50 years.The switch is great and satisfying to turn on and off and feels very high quality

This isn't the cheapest you could get a fused switch, but I would argue that for something that is going to be on display and hopefully last a generation, paying a bit more is worth it.MK is a very reliable make, and this switch matches up to their usual quality. Designed to hide the screws you use to affix the switch, it also looks clean and unobtrusive.No real downsides - recommended.

I just love the screwless design. The high gloss finish makes it look really high specification. Great product and really good quality.

In our house, MK switches were always seen as a sign of quality and despite it no longer being a British owned company (they are now owned by Honeywell, an American company), they don't seem to have sacrificed on the quality of the switches i.e. they remain as strong and robust as ever.This review is for a 13A switched, fused, connection unit with a neon light. Strictly, it doesn't come with a hole for a cord to be inserted i.e. if you need to connect it to a washing machine or dishwasher, where the cabling is outside of the wall however, it does look like this could be achieved by the removal of a small plastic cover. This switch should hopefully be a like for like replacement design for your existing switches. The switch also operates with a very satisfying click, so you can't mistake when you've pushed it.Unlike many older switches, this switch comes in two distinct parts, the first containing the main electronic components of the switch and the second being a removable faceplate. The advantage of a removable faceplate is that it can be used to cover up the screws attaching the switch to the wall, thus making it look slightly tidier.Crucially, it is very easy to install (provided you are comfortable working with electronic circuits, as to do otherwise, would be extremely dangerous) and all fixings are included, being the screws to hold both the electric wires and for fixing it to the wall. However, the backing box for inserting into the wall and attaching the switch to, in the case that it is a new rather than replacement switch, is not included.Overall, I would highly recommend this switch, if this is what you need.
