Dont recommend!!
First rain we had it fogged up. Wouldn't give it 1 star, but not giving another choice..

Junk. Took item out of package to find the threads where the wingnut goes on stop about 1/2" before the base of the gauge, meaning that unless your grill lid is 1/2" thick, you wouldn't be able to make the gauge snug to the lid without adding a ton of washers or some type of spacer. Returned to Amazon and will purchase another brand.

Thermometer works great and is weather proof. Extremely satisfied with my purchase and would buy it again.

Keep on looking, don't waste money or time on this one.
As another review mentioned, the threads stop too far away to tighten without spacers. The bolt broke off when finger tightening. I had brought two. I was gentle with the second one. I will be replacing it from another source.
