I recently installed the TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor Access Point for my outdoor WiFi needs, and it has exceeded my expectations. Designed with Omada True WiFi 6 AX3000 technology, it delivers exceptional performance and coverage, even in challenging outdoor environments. The IP67 rating ensures durability against harsh weather conditions, making it ideal for outdoor use.Features like Mesh capability, seamless roaming, and MU-MIMO support provide reliable connectivity across my entire outdoor area. The PoE+ support simplifies installation, and the ability to be powered remotely via app control adds to its convenience.Overall, the TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor Access Point is a robust and feature-rich solution for anyone looking to extend high-performance WiFi outdoors. It's a solid choice for enhancing connectivity in outdoor spaces. Highly recommended!

Simple and fast AP
I like TP-Link products. They are simple, inexpensive and do the job. Fast WiFi, extra wired ports (including a PoE port), small and looks unobtrusive. Supports the features I needed: VLANs, multiple bands and protocols. I don't have enough TP-Link devices to use their Omada controller, but I tested it and liked the ecosystem. If you go for TP-Link router, switches and multiple access points in your deployment, it would simplify management a lot.

Best extender we have used to send wifi to a different building.
This product was the solution to sending wifi to our workshop that is over 100 feet from our house. This is the third extender we have tried and it works very well. We can even get a signal at 200 feet away.

Faster than my previous WAP
I purchased this to replace a TP-Link WAP that was 2.4 years old and slowed down to a crawl the last few weeks for some reason. I elected to purchase this new model even though the price was a lot more, since I tend to keep electronic items for a long time. The WAP in my shop is 11 years old.The install was standard and I could do everything from the browser. I do wish the device came with a static IP to make it easier, but not a big deal.I gave the "WIFI" 4 stars because I was about 100 feet from the building in an open field and the signal was average. Since this WAP is mounted high and there is nothing around this building, I thought my phone would receive a better signal (my expectation could be incorrect). With that said, the speed in the building is over 250 which is way more than I need. I believe my previous WAP was around 55.Configuration took about 7 minutes and once I rebooted the device, my 17 devices all received an IP address and started working. Very smooth install.

Basically a lower power 650 without the bundled power adapter
This is a baby brother to the EAP650. Size, power requirements, and almost all other specifications are the same. The EAP650 comes with a power adapter, the EAP653 doesn't and costs $10 less. If you have a PoE+ switch and don't need the power adapter, save a little dough on the 653.Performance is good. AX clients benefit from the higher speeds. AC clients don't see any improvement. Range is comparable to the older EAP models. I upgraded from the EAP225 and coverage is virtually the same. The EAP225 has a little higher max power output on the 2.4GHz band @ 24 dBm, while the EAP653 maxes at 22 dBm. On the 5GHz both max at 22 dBm.The EAP245, EAP650, EAP660-HD, and EAP670 have higher max power outputs which increases range. It's interesting that the EAP650 has up to 25 dBm power output which is twice as powerful as the EAP653 (every 3 dB is a doubling of power). Increased range is nice in a single router setup, but in a mesh setup it can lead to more interference depending on placement of the mesh APs. It depends on how you organize and place the APs.

Met my expectations- but this one
I’ve been using this on the farm for almost a year, and couldn’t be happier. The farm is located in the middle of nowhere with a small town wi-fi service company.I’ve got cameras for the cattle set up, wi-fi for the gardens and camper- and it works beautifully.

Excellent for home use
I got tired of the mesh system optimum put in with their little wps access points, the speed was ok but the ping times were way higher than they should've been. So I decided to invest into the tp link ecosystem, I gotta say these things are very nice. As you can see this one has 2.4gbps of bandwith, which is more than enough for the average 1 gig service. I only have the 300/300 plan from optimum currently and these little things slam the meter every time. As you can see, these APs have way less delay compared to the mesh ones optimum gives you, with the test server I'm showing, on a wired connection my idle ping is a 3 with sometimes a low of 2. So these access points only add 2-3ms of delay compared to a wired connection(back and forth ping, actual airtime fairness is probably close to a millisecond). I like these wall access points because of their passtrhough ports but I'm sure the ceiling mount ones are just as good. What's great about the two access points i have currently (definetly going to add some more soon) is the seamless roaming between these. The second my phone sees a lower signal strength on one it instantly connects to the other. Plus these designs are just so sleek, they're easy to miss if you hide them well. It will sure have guests confused on where the hell your router is. I would definitely reccomend this product to anyone who's like me and wants a wired system rather than a mesh one, or if you have low single in a portion of your house where it's easy enough to run a wire back to your router. Keep in mind these are POE powered and this particular wall unit DOES NOT come with a poe injector. Be sure to check the pictures of what tp link includes in the box if you need one. Otherwise I'd reccomened their POE switch or even their omada controllers. Though they aren't necessary for a small home.
