Great fit for my Idoo 5 pod
Perfect fit for the Idoo 5 pod and much better quality than the stock sponges that come with said Idoo, as they’re prone to algae infestation. Whereas, these sponges are much denser and algae doesn’t seem to grow on them at all.If you just purchased an Idoo system I would buy these immediately and throw out the stock Idoo sponges. They’re that bad.

So far so good
I purchased these for my square sized hydroponic garden. They appeared a little small at first, but after soaking, fit perfectly! So far all of my seedlings seems to love them as well!

But they got bugs in my hydroponics
The media could not be loaded. I loved the sponges. They didn’t grow algae but they did get infested by fungus gnats. I will have to figure out how to keep them away.

Slightly bigger than my hydroponic system
It’s slightly bigger than cone shaped but not real issue fitting in the cone shaped seed pod holder. So very happy with the germination of seeds planted in square seed pods. So would recommend for cone similar hydroponics systems

Work Great for Kratky!
Had great success with these sponges and the Kratky method. Just give them a good soak in the solution prior to adding seeds!

maybe ok for some systems
My use case for these if for standard 1"x1" inserts. For that use, these are a bit small. I'm guessing they designs these to fit is some of the proprietary inserts for common home hydroponic systems. Unfortunately, I'm using them for something else.Generally though I suppose they're fine. Roots penetrated without too much issue. They absorbed enough water at first but dried out quickly. Because the diameter was so small I ended up sticking them in larger rockwool cubes to support the trunks of the larger plants. In the end, I can't really recommend these because I they weren't good for my intended purpose. But my guess is they'd be fine for those common home use aeroponics systems out there.
