Better than drops or dip-sticks. Wish I had gotten a higher-end unit that tested for more variables.

I was excited about this product.... Untill i got it. The directions seemed to be written by AI. Completely incomprehensible. I had to go onto YouTube to find a calibration video since I had never done it before. The instructions were useless. But I found a video and matched it up best I could with the directions the meter came with. I did the calibration correctly according to the written instructions that came in the box. But every time I tried to test any sample of water, the readings were all over the place. Nothing consistent or accurate. I did everything right. Making sure to wash the tip off with distilled water and such. Nothing helped.. I even decided to do little experiments with two samples of distilled water in the similar ceramic cups. The ph readings of both cups was wildly different. And the number would jump several numbers if I swirled the meter in the water. Often the meter would time out and shut off before I got a stable number reading. The number would just rise and fall without reason. I even tried to take a reading of the calibration solution again. The 6.86 solution literally has a ph of 6.86. That's the point. Nope. The meter was waaaay off and each testing of the solution was different. I tried calibrating the meter again, but it refused to. All in all, this was a complete waste of money. No way of telling if any of the ph readings are correct. I'm gonna go out and get pH test strips. The are less accurate but more consistent. Don't waste your time on this product.

This is an excellent pH meter with unheard of accuracy for a meter costing @ $15! It outperforms a meter I paid $50 for. I wasn't sure, and I hoped that they had used tri-color LED's for the backlighting so that the backlighting would change color with the pH reading, but that is not the case; green is the backlight color. (That would have been TOO perfect!) Even so, this meter with .01 accuracy is a steal at a ridiculously affordable price!

This is way better than the pool dip sticks. It’s not an instant reading, but after about 30 seconds, gives you a good reading

This meter came with very sketchy instructions. After some time on the internet, I was able to garner a better understanding of how to set the meter up properly. It also neglected to tell you that the element is very touchy and requires constant moisture. I suggest doing some research before ordering because you will want to include additional PH packets, a moisturizing solution, and some 8 oz bottles to store the calibrating solutions.
