Polk Audio DB1242 SVC - DB+ Series 12" Shallow Subwoofer for Marine/Car Sound System, 26Hz-200Hz Frequency Response, Single 4-Ohm Voice Coils & Polypropylene Woofer Cone

I installed 2 of these in my boat, 1 on each side of our 21' ski-boat. Each sub is in their own 1.6 cubic foot box. I wired them in parallel to drop the ohms to 2 and get more wattage out of my amp. You can definitely hear and feel the bass when the boat is at cruising speeds, but it's not overpowering. Great for cruising speeds, and even near wide open throttle. I have to turn them down when the boat is parked because it rattles everything. Sounds great inside the boat, but you don't hear it much outside the boat. I'm using a 5 channel Pioneer GM-D9705 which dedicates 600 watt RMS to the subs at 2 ohms. Splitting that 600 watts at 2 ohms sounds great to me and these subs handle it well. A single 12" would probably be fine for a car, but after trying just 1 on the open air boat, 2 is much better. I have had them installed for about 2.5 years and put about 360 hours on the boat and speakers with no issues. I live in the desert, so it gets super hot (100+ daily during the summer), the heat does not seem to affect these at all so far.

Polk speakers are always a good value. Installed in boat and is exactly what i needed to fill out the sound.

My husband loves it! I originally bought him a sound system for his car but one of the speakers kept having the wires disconnect until it eventually blew out so I bought this as a replacement speaker. He said it was really easy to install and he feels it actually bumps louder than the original Polk speaker I bought him that went out.

Used two of these speakers with a Crunch Amplifier. Excellent sound and power handling.
