Not sure yet...
As you can see from my pic, it doesn’t look good. To be fair I ordered it in the dead of winter and feel like something happened in transport. I water when the soil is dry (picture was taken just before watering) and it appears that it might be getting a second chance and many of the bottom leaves shriveled up and fell off but the new growth seems promising. The window that it is next to is super sunny and warm in the summer so maybe in a few months I can amend my review but for now this is all I know.

Unique and truly rare color!
I am very happy with this unique and rare colored succulent! I would like to say that it was well packaged and it arrived in good condition. The plant arrived pretty healthy - especially considering it was without sun for a few days and shipped in colder weather (40s in GA). The lower leaves were pretty dry and shriveled so I removed them. It seems that most reviews say their plant arrived the same way. The soil it came in was pretty moist so I didn’t water it for 5 days. I repotted it 2 days after that (so one week after it arrived). It started looking much healthier after it was deadheaded and repotted. Not that it was terribly unhealthy to start with, but many plants experience a sort of shock from shipping and they just need a little TLC to thrive. The plant arrived a beautiful deep red/black color. The new growth is a bit lighter which is to be expected. But I believe the color will deepen again as it ages, and starts to get more full sun in the summer months. Succulents tend to be branded as “easy” to care for. However, they are only easy to care for if you know what the plant needs. And not all succulents need the same care. This plant needs fast draining soil, lots of sun, infrequent watering, and a good amount of moisture in the air. If you can care for the plant in that way I am sure you will be pleased with this beautiful and rare colored succulent as it continues to grow in your home!

No Clay pot.
The plant was somewhat limp, which could be expected after its journey. The three-inch clay pot though was plastic, green and didn't resemble clay in any way. I think I would buy it again.

[Updated review.] Started great, now plant is suffering, unsure why
ETA 8/22: It's a nice color, has grown a bit taller, but not fuller. It gets sun + growlights, so not sure why. But it seems otherwise healthy and I think it's pretty so changed rating.First review 7/31:It was a little smashed from shipping, but seemed healthy. Looked good. The only problem was that it came in wet soil. Being a newbie who has seen how much disagreement there is over best practices, I wasn't sure if i should just leave it alone and let it dry out, or if I should repot immediately. I decided to leave it alone.24 hours later, literally ALL the lower leaves were shriveled and falling off. The soil was still pretty wet, so I removed it to let the roots dry out for a day. Then I repotted in high drainage soil.I have not yet watered it, because I suspect the cause is overwatering + stress from being shipped. I'm going to give it a little more time, then water, then update review. This probably won't be much help to a newbie like myself, since I'm just speculating, but I imagine that an experienced planter can probably use this review to determine the plants quality. Hopefully.

Looks as advertised, arrived healthy and looking great
I received this plant about 3 weeks ago and it's doing great. I live in Rochester, NY and rolled the dice on it surviving the shipping in the well below freezing temps, and it did great. It arrived in a box surrounded by foam packing peanuts which I'm sure helped prevent it from getting damaged. It even sat outside by the door for a couple of hours before I got it inside. The plant arrived healthy and only looked a little stressed (some of the leaves looked a bit shriveled and folded in) but that went away after a couple of days and is now growing very well. It came in the pot shown in the picture (drip tray not included), and aside from trimming some of the lower leaves and starting to train it to face toward the side (and a few weeks of growth), it arrived looking just like it you see here.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone looking for a Black Rose Tree.

Replacement never received
My plant arrived with petals half off. I requested a replacement, but never received.

Disappointed
Extremely disappointed with my purchase. The package itself was ok but the plant was not secure. The plant flopped from one side to the other when I picked it up. The pot was taped up with cotton like material to secure it to the soil. Awful. Took me some time to get all of that material out of the soil and off the plant itself. The little plant looked dreadful like it was the last one and on its last leg. As I said, extremely disappointed.
