The applicator is so smooth and silky that I don’t need to apply any extra lube to the outside. Sometimes you can get seams in the plastic or the destination zone is a Sahara. In these instances, adding a drop of lube to the outside tip of the tool makes a world of a difference. But this one is so smooth, I didn’t need to! My only issue is with my personal hand strength. A one handed application is important for me. However, the first 1-2 inches of loading the tool has me using all my strength just in midair. I have to use two hands to load the lube. Expelling the lube was merely a matter of practice. At first I was accidentally using the tool as a lube blaster! lol But with some patience and persistence, I discovered the Goldie locks zone of pressure over time. The same 1-2 inches were the most difficult to maintain an even, slow pressure. It’s not unexpected, just also a little frustrating, so I deducted one star. The package was nondescript. Shipping was fast. No customer service needed because this is a quality item that gets the job done in more ways than one!
