All sprouted outdoors in summer temps. Made strong plants. Very low maintenance actually. Plant and forget it. Zone 8a. Will bring infor the winter. Super happy. I really appreciated being able to get this ginger. All of it in the grocery store is now chemically stunted so that it doesn't grow at home. I used to buy it from the store and plant it but you can't anymore. The Ginger arrived in beautiful condition. Already sprouting and growing. The leaflet inside explains everything about the Ginger. If it's possibly a little dry or what have you. Of course it has to be mailed somewhere so it might dry out a bit. But they give you their contact information if the plant doesn't do well so that they can replace it or make you happy in whatever way. There's a lot of complaining here but I don't see that anybody actually contacted their customer service. They also have a pamphlet you can scan that teaches you how To grow ginger. I just feel very thankful that I could get the plant and keep it just in case we have to become self sufficient in the near future. It really looks like it's going that way in the US, sorry to say. Review: not worth the money! - They were not in the best shape when they arrived but there was a note included that said don't worry they will grow. NOPE!!! Not one grew, they all turned into empty husks. I now have a great starter crop - THAT I STARED FROM GROCERY STORE RHIZOMES! 'Don't waste your money on this product!!!

received 12 - 6 sprouted - five grew big - Atlanta GA
I received 12, I planted them all in their own pots, 6 sprouted, 5 grew big. Pictured is the smallest one I harvested after less then a year. I was concerned because at first I got nothing, I was going to ask for a refund, but, they said they stood behind their warranty. My Thai ginger was huge before these were even sprouting. BUT, they did grow eventually, I know Atlanta GA might not be ideal for it's growing conditions and you really need to let them grow well over a year to see any size. Impossible in this part of GA due to the frost and freezing unless you take them inside. Now as to taste, they taste great. Unlike Thai ginger (not really a ginger) these would be suitable for cookies and beer. Very spicy, not too hot. I am going to save some to reseed, but, ordering again, as I give them away at end of season. FWIW: I consider on this type of plant, a 50% germinate rate reasonable, and five stars for the direct response when I had concerns.

no sprouts but looks fresh
All look fresh, no sprouts on them and none yet, indoors or in the greenhouse but it's cold where I am right now. I've bought a grow light because I don't want them to start molding before they have had a chance. That should help. My only complaint is that there were no sprouting growths when they were supposed to. // update- I couldn't get any of them to sprout, I had them in an indoor sunny place with a grow light for 4 to 8 hours a day and none of them grew because I bought them in the winter, I guess. I hate wasting money, but I guess it's on me for not doing enough research, I suppose. Why sell them in the winter for planting if they don't grow in that season, because of dummies like me who buy them anyway?

Don't buy
None arrived sprouted, followed instructions and bought equipment to facilitate sprouting, still no growth. Waste of money and time.

Not sprouted rhizomes. Not one! Sure hope they do in the soil.
These were not sprouted. Received a good quantity as per the description, but not even 1 sprout. I've have them in moist soil for nearly 4 weeks. They are still firm to the touch, but nothing is showing through the soil. I sure hope they root and sprout. Update. They all rooted and sprouted. I'm please with the outcome.

It is the best Ginger to grow that I have received from Amazon.
I liked that the advertisement for this ginger root said, Ginger to eat or grow. The 4 previous businesses I bought from never said “to grow”. This PCA business sent me a lot of healthy looking Ginger with eyes full of growth. It is the only business that sent me beautiful roots with growth. I knew that they were not sprayed with anything to prohibit growth. I felt confident about the sender. This ginger root was packaged very well and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. I recommend PCA to anyone wanting ginger root to grow.

Poor Germinator
I purchased a pack of 10 and very few have germinated. Not worth the $$.

Les rhysomes sont arrivés gelés. J’ai bien essayé de les planter, mais ils n’ont pas poussé. J’ai donc payé inutilement.
