Ball® Fiesta Salsa Mix - Flex Batch - New! (6.7oz) (by Jarden Home Brands)

I was happy to find this because it makes the best fresh salsa ever! Just chop your tomatoes and mix this in. It’s also good for a cucumber tomato salad.

I made this salsa recipe listed on the back of the Ball Fiesta mix bottle I received and it was a huge hit. It is a very easy recipe but tastes as if you spent all day making it. All you need is a can of diced tomatoes, a tablespoon of vinegar, and some of this Ball Fiesta Salsa mix. I mixed all three of the ingredients and cooked to a boil followed by a 5 minute simmer. Let cool and it is ready to serve. It tastes fantastic and the flavor can be adjusted by adding more or less. The more salsa mix you add, the spicier. My husband is a self proclaimed salsa snob and this is the first salsa I have made that he approves of and loves. It is much cheaper than buying salsa in the jar if you make it in bulk and there are recommendations for storing in ball jars long term as well. I hope to learn how to do that so I always have some on hand for family stopovers as well as keeping my salsa loving hubby happy.

I love this stuff! Makes making salsa a breeze! And everything tastes like a fresh garden salsa. I uses it every year when canning my salsa.

This was my first year making my own salsa and I tried several brands. Ball Feista was not so feisty as I would have preferred. It did have good flavor and was easy to make. The directions were simple and easy to follow. For those who don't like a little bite to their salsa, I would recommend this mix.

I have been using this salsa seasoning for many years. Amazon is the only source I can find for it now. I won’t make fresh salsa without!

Ball brand is best, hard to find anywhere else. Easiest to mix and eat right away.

I use the Ball Fiesta Salsa Mix often; I usually make several dozen quarts of salsa per year as we have lots of tomatoes and my family loves salsa. This mix is so much easier than dicing up lots of onions, peppers, etc. The taste is good, the salsa looks just like homemade, and it's easy to add more 'heat' if you want it. Directions are on the jar.Just a note-- if you are canning the salsa, don't add extras like corn, beans, or more peppers as those foods cannot be safely canned in a water bath canner. If you want extra things in your salsa and don't own a pressure canner, add them after you open a jar to use-- tastes the same and is safe, too. Otherwise you can make the additions, just freeze your salsa or eat it fresh instead of canning.

My first disappointment is that I ordered this is May 2014. It's August 2nd, and I'm using it for the first time, and I see that the expiration date is May 2014. I'll try to get that rectified, but that didn't endear me to the vendor. As for the mix-- I am using the Ball Autocanner (which I love) and decided to test drive it with this mix. I liked that I didn't have to core, seed and peel the tomatoes. I used store bought roma tomatoes, as I'm not enamored with cooking my home grown tomatoes. I like to make my own salsa with chopped onion, jalapeno and fresh cilantro-- and it's really good. So, how do I liked this "cooked" version. It's okay. I don't dislike it, and the flavor of cumin is quite prevalent (which I do like). It's good, but doesn't rival homemade recipes. It's easy, so perfect for beginners. By the way, I love the autocanner. I made 6 pints and the canner automatically did the water bath in 45 minutes with just a little bit of water-- nice!
