My 3 yr old loved it! Fantastic pictures!
My son and I aren't FULLY "Paleo" yet but I decided to get this book to teach him about making healthier food choices. When I got the book it was even more than I could have asked for! The pictures are big and bold which really helps to keep my sons attention and since all little boys love super heros he was very intrigued by the story. What really surprised me was how much he connected to the pictures of the healthy happy stomach vs the red, inflammed sick stomach. It really helped him to to understand that some foods you eat make you feel yucky and sick and others make you feel strong and happy. The only negative I found about it was that the plot was a little bit too long for my 3 year old - his attention starts shifting onto other things towards the end. It also uses the term "eating paleo" a lot but the only description of what "eating paleo" means is that you eat fresh whole foods rather than factory food. As most people familiar with the paleo movement know, it can be much more restrictive then that. It's possible that the author left the definition of Paleo open for the parents to decide what that means in their house. I really hope that Sarah decides to turn the Paleo Pals into a series of books because we will definitely be getting ALL of them!

The Paleo Pals help kids become superheroes and parents feel like superheroes instead of "The Queen and King of no"
Thanks to this book, my kids now have a better understanding of where food comes from and why I am always saying "no" when it comes to their requests for the SAD junk food targeted at children. After reading this book, my kids were playing "Paleo Pals" and pretending to fly their carrot rocket ship. Everydaypaleo.com has always been a staple in my recipe database, but it's so nice to have some kid-friendly recipes in a printed version, too.[...]

My girls loved this book!
Our family has recently transitioned to Paleo. My 7 and 8 year olds have been very open to the changes (luckily). After getting this book, the girls are now very proud of what we are doing. They love the super heros and have read the book over and over. There are recipies at the end, which are very good. The girls had a play date with two friend at our house and the girls picked out 2 recipies from the book to have with the friends. We made the paleo fruit pops for an afterschool snack. We made the paleo zuchinni pizza for dinner, and all of the kids ate it up.

Easy fun recipes for children and parents!
Paleo Pals is a joy for all! The storyline is catchy and it really painted a powerful contrast of food grown from the ground vs. food manufactured in a plant. I give it 4 stars only because I wish there were even more great recipes than already listed at the back.

Long Winded and Cumbersome
This book is painful to read and it did not maintain my kids interest. It is soooo lobg winded and cumbersomr. It's also a bit over the top with the portrayal of "factory food". We put it in the recycle bin.

A MUST HAVE for paleo parents!
This book is full of fantastic pictures and tells an adventurous story about three children who live the Paleo lifestyle. My two boys loved the story and it answered a lot of their questions about why our family has chosen to live the Paleo lifestyle! Thank you, Sara Fragoso, for yet another resourceful book we can add to our family library! :)

Something for the whole family
I bought this book for my children to read so that they would understand better the food choices we are now making. Our whole family went " Paleo" in August and my twelve year old has had a hard time understanding why we don't eat certain foods any more. We all enjoyed the story and have all enjoyed the recipes included.

Almost the perfect book...
I love this book, and more to the point my 3 year old loves it too. Unfortunately the first recipe I decided to try was totally ruined by the lack of oven times or temperatures... a bit of a basic requirement in a recipe book I'd have thought... If it hadn't been for such an oversight it would have had more stars, and could have had the full 5 stars had it not been so overwhelmingly American.

Brilliant book
Just started the paleo diet with our 6 and 7 year olds, they were initially quite reluctant (like Jimmy in the story) as felt they would be missing out on some of their favourite things. After reading this book they got genuinely excited about eating healthy 'real' food, not from factories, are getting involved with cooking and choosing food, are noticing how much better they feel and are desperate for me to sew superhero 'P's on their vests to secretly wear to school! Despite quite a few Americanisms (which I needed to translate for my children) and the unimpressive recipes I do highly recommend this story to anyone wanting to get their kids on board with a paleo lifestyle.

Awesome, my 4 and 3 year old are hooked
I was a little unsure based on the comments here, but we received the book today and both kids loved it immediately. I had to read it twice in a row. It's long, indeed, and i was worried I'd lose them on the way but they kept asking for more... I'm hoping the "healthy foid" explanations will stick, and not only in theory...Great book to explain food choices to kids. My husband was a little bummed that it didnt really mention what foods exactly are ok and which not, but I think its a positive point because we for ex still consume small amounts of dairy and i was afraid I'd have to "explain" that to the kids.
