When it comes to caring for your chainsaw’s bar and chain, this DEWALT oil is a clear winner. Here’s why it’s the one I prefer — and why it’s worth choosing over other brands. ✅ What sets it apart • Eco-friendly credentials — This oil is USDA Certified Biobased, made from plant oils rather than petroleum, and designed for “100% loss applications” (meaning oil that inevitably ends up in the environment). • Outstanding performance — The specs show that it handles extreme conditions: –15 °F cold-pour point, and tested up to 500 °F for heat resilience. • Higher lubrication quality — It boasts a viscosity index significantly higher than typical petroleum chain oils, which means it stays consistent across temperature changes and helps reduce wear on your bar & chain. • Brand trust & compatibility — Since it’s produced by DEWALT (a known name in power tools), there’s confidence the oil will work well with gas, electric, and pole saws—one product for all your cutting tools. • Environmental responsibility — If you work near water, in parks, or care about the footprint of your equipment, this oil supports that ethic. DEWALT itself points out how many gallons of standard bar/chain oil end up in nature each year. ⚠️ Why it might matter to you • If you’re using your saw professionally or frequently, choosing an oil that reduces wear and protects your investment makes sense. • If you choose a generic oil just because it’s cheaper, you might sacrifice long-term performance or environmental impact. • If you work in sensitive environments (by a river, in a garden, near erosion-prone soil) the biodegradable formula gives real peace of mind.

I use it for my Seesii chainsaw 8 inch and it works

Works just fine in my cordless chainsaw. This is a small bottle so it's just fine for my small projects. Biodegradable, that's a good thing. Thickness seems good and dose the job

I've been looking for an eco-friendly bar and chain oil that doesn't compromise on performance, and this DEWALT oil is it! I use it on both my battery-powered and my older gas saw, and the lubrication is fantastic. The chain runs smoothly, and I've noticed less wear on my bar. The peace of mind knowing this is a USDA Certified Biobased Product, made from North American plant oils, is huge, especially since all bar & chain oil is a "loss application" and goes directly into the environment. No slimy, sticky residue either—my saw stays cleaner compared to the conventional petroleum oils I used before. It flows well in the cold and holds up during heavy-duty cutting. It's truly a high-performance, green solution. Highly recommend!

Performance: The viscosity is spot-on. It adheres extremely well to the bar and chain, minimizing sling-off even during high-speed cuts. I noticed less friction and reduced heat buildup compared to some conventional petroleum-based oils I've used previously, suggesting good wear protection for the equipment. It flows smoothly in moderate temperatures, and my chain has run consistently without sticking or binding.
