My favorite all-around shorts
These shorts are absolutely fantastic for the activities I primarily engage in: 1) hiking/backpacking, 2) climbing/bouldering, 3) work outs, and 4) weekends around the house. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to find shorts that don't hang about my knees like man capris, yet aren't 1970 NBA short. Despite the 5" rating on these, they aren't as short as what you might be expecting. I'm 5'10 and they hit just above my knees. They're made of a synthetic fabric that isn't at all uncomfortable, is lightweight, and dries fast. I like the liner because I can go commando, swimming, etc. The liner is a non-issue when I wear boxer briefs. It's nice on a backpacking trip or hike to be able to jump into a creek or lake for a dip and have them dry quickly. They have a drawstring in the elastic waistband which I don't usually need to tie, but if I go swimming I do. The three pockets are fantastic. The front pockets are great because they are deep enough for a phone, wallet, keys, etc. On a lot of shorts in this price range you get pockets that aren't deep enough to hold a pea, much less something valuable. The zippered pocket on the back is really nice when you want to be extra sure to secure something and is also big enough for a phone or slim wallet. If these shorts have a weakness at this price point, I'm not sure what it is. I've experienced no issues with fit, quality, or durability. They're comfortable. I now own three pairs and wish I had more.

weight of their material and top quality for running apparel.
I am blown away with their quality of the product, I courage you to buy this brand once, much better than nike, Adidas and Lululemon brands. I am professional runner and I just happened to buy one of their running shorts 3 years ago on amazon incidentally. I am still wearing those shorts on everyday running. threads quality and elastic is very very good and its feather light product. some other product on amazon around 20-30 dollars as well but don't be fooled by their quality and how heavy they are and once you sweat while running, heavier shorts gets even heavier and drop and t-shirts don't dry off as fast as this brand. I am not getting paid by any of them to write this kind of reviews. I am online shopper and I never leave any reviews to anyone, unless something really hits me heard. sizes are true to your size and washing and line dry is only necessary....Hats off to their designer ;-)

light weight and very comfortable
While searching for running shorts, than came up on Amazon's recommended. To me, brand name is not important as long as it have side pockets, an extra zipper pocket and quality/comfortable. Of course within budget. After researching on this brand/company, it is a fairly new company that manufacturers sports wear based out of California. I decided to give this a try. Here is my break down Fit - as expected, I am 5'9, 190lbs and waist 36. Size large was just right with enough room to spare where it is not too baggy/loose Quality - outside fabric is very soft to the touch even when out running and sweating. Does not stick to skin at all. It is thin but feels strong. If it wasnt for the inside mesh brief, I can easily forget i was wearing this. Speaking of inside mesh brief, mine came in white (same was drawcord) while my shorts are navy blue. It can't be seems on the outside, but maybe it would be better if it came in matching color? The brief did not ride up or feel uncomfortable in my long run. Side pocket - big enough and fairly deep enough to fit large phone (6.5") but seems like it stuff can fall out. Extra zip pocket - located in center back of pants, it is big enough to fix keys, wallet/cash and energy gel packs, BUT doest not fit my phone. If you have a large phone like mine, dont bother trying to fit it in. The opening alone is not big enough. 5" inseam was just the right length for me. It is around 2 inches up from knee, which provided good flexibility and not drag when running I did two wash so far and wore this once for a 10 mile run. So far it held up, but can't say for the printed reflected brand name on lower left thigh. It seems to be printed on and might fall/wear out after more washed. Overall satisfy but only time will tell if the stitching and quality hold up after more usage

Good quality and look
These fit pretty much as expected. I have had problems in the past with this not being the case, but these were good. If anything they are maybe very slightly on the smaller size so if you are debating between two sizes you might want to opt for the larger size - but this is only slightly so. The material feels great from a wearing standpoint, and feels great from a touch/quality standpoint as well. The pockets are nice sized. If there is any criticism I would say it is with the liner - I don't think it is particularly supportive. For me these shorts are perfectly fine with nothing underneath during normal wear (which is how I will normally use these), but for actual running you are probably going to want to wear a jock/compression shorts or something more supportive, especially if... well.... you know. Overall the look, feel, and quality all seem very high quality. I would also add that these are maybe just slightly longer than I expected. I had debated between 5" and 7" inseams, and opted for the 5". I have some 5" inseam running shorts already and they are fine but I wouldn't want them any shorter (which is why I was considering the 7" inseam to start with), so the fact that these are just ever so slightly longer than I expected was actually a plus for me.

What I wanted to say about my new shorts from: BALEAF
Hi everybody. I am a 70 year old female (I'm not Steve. I'm married to Steve.) I play tennis three times a week, I’m big boned, not huge but 20 pounds overweight. I cannot fit into the cutsey women’s XL size they sell at Dicks. Academy, etc. I have given up trying to ever shop in there. Shame on them for never carrying any women’s 2X. I play most tennis with married men so would never wear the teensy skirt that flashes your AQQ every time you bend over to pick up a ball. (Girls, don’t be naïve. It’s not okay.) Thus I am forced to hunt for Men’s XL shorts, ones that don’t look too masculine. I’m very picky and it’s really hard to find what I need. Enter Baleaf. I just bought two pairs. Do they have the light dreamy fabric that wicks away moisture? Check! The perfect length? (for me, 5”) Check! Deep pockets to hold my tennis balls? Check! Nice, comfy elastic waistband? Check! Adjustable strings at waist? Check! And Ooh, look how strong they are! How about a nice subtle logo design for men who want to scream their game, not scream their brand? Check! How about great colors that girls would like too, not just grey and navy. Check! Built in brief? You bet! Check! But cool -- they used clever, stylish brief colors to compliment and contrast the outside, not just boring noncolors. How about the price? Check! $18 instead of $45+. for the same or better quality than the big boys. Finally, they fit great. They wash great. But wait! There’s more! Act now and you will receive, at no extra charge, a zipper pocket in center back to hold your keys and money. THANK YOU, BALEAF! I love you guys.

Great shorts for hiking
These fit perfectly. The light and quick dry material is perfect for hiking and hot weather. The brief liner is similar to some much more expensive Mountain Hardwear shorts at better price point.

Decent Quality, But Disappointing Aspects
These are pretty good running shorts. They aren't hip shorts, but they also aren't a 'to the knee' length. Perfect length IMO. They are soft, light, and comfortable even with the mesh liner. Honestly, I am not sure what the liner is supposed to do, but it's not a snug fit so I still wear underwear with the shorts. The front pockets are just deep enough for a phone, which is a plus (see below) and the back pocket can easily hold a set of keys and cash/cards/ID. That brings me to the first negative. Unless your cell phone dates to 2015 or earlier, you most likely won't be able to fit it in the back zipper pocket. The pocket is just far too small, especially for today's larger 'phablet' style phones (iPhone X/S, Galaxy/Galaxy Note 7-10, etc). If you have an iPhone 6 or more recent models or any Android flagship built in the last 5 years, you probably won't be able to fit your phone in the zip pocket. My phone is just under 6 inches tall and it's not even close to being able to fit. The zipper itself is only about 5 inches long, if that tells you anything. Again, the front pockets are deep enough for a phone, but they're stretchy so not only is the phone slapping against one's leg but it gives the illusion that it is pulling the shorts down. I'm actually tempted to take off another star here for false advertising from the company, as the product is listed with 'zipper pocketS' yet there is only one small zipper pocket on the back. The other negative is that the fabric is a bit transparent. Not to the point where one can see through it, but enough that light passes through. Probably why the liner is included. I'm keeping these, as they seem solid enough to wear on 10k or less runs. Though not sure they're ideal for lengthy jogs. I'm just finding it hard to believe that there are so many imperfect running shorts out there. I mean, are the points below so hard to master: - Comfortable - Zipper pocket(s) large enough to hold a modern day cell phone. - Mid thigh length - Solidly Constructed (too many fit the rest of the bill but fall apart within a month) - Lightweight construction That's it. Anyone find something that fits the bill?

Runners must have
I’ve had two pairs of these shorts for seven years. I run several times a week and they have been through hundreds of washes. They last and last and last. High-quality highly recommend.
