Replacement carb that works
I have a merc 3 liter, bolted up this carb, filled the float bowl, connected the fuel line and started her up! So far only run on the hose, sounds good, runs good, I only adjusted the choke position and idle screw. I recommend 100% as a cost effective fix. the carb is packaged well, arrived in perfect condition.

Got this for my old boat. Couldn't find parts anywhere luckily I was able to find this here and it worked. Definitely recommend.

Knock-off product that doesn't work
If you have a genuine MerCarb and looking to replace it, DO NOT do so with one these cheap imported knock-offs. The reality is: it's cheaper in the long run to buy a high quality reputable OEM or OEM equivalent MerCarb rebuild kit and refurbish what you already have in order to get back out on the water quicker than buying this knock-off carburetor, spend the better part of a day adjusting things to try and even get it to work, finally give up, determine that you probably can't return it since you've already installed it and primed it with flammable gasoline, then do the actual right thing and just rebuild your genuine MerCarb. If you are dead-set on replacing your MerCarb/Rochester, then go with a Holley Marine 2300 conversion kit (but go genuine Holley instead of one of the knock-offs)...there are carburetor adapter plates available directly from Holley. Consult with an expert that has performed the conversion and knows exactly what additional parts and alterations are required. The Holley Marine 2300 was OEM by Volvo-Penta on all the same engines that MerCruiser used: 3.0, 4.3, 5.0, etc.

solved problem of engine stumbling when trying to accelerate
Installed this on 2005 Sea Ray 180 with Mercruiser 3.0. The engine runs much better with this carb. I don't have the choke adjusted correctly yet but I think I'll achieve that soon.
