Q: Will this work on Presta valves?

no, I believe it will only work with a standard tire. I used it to replace my jump starter battery pack inflator when the valve broke. it works great for that.

Q: Will this price work with a Schrader valve (for a bike tire)?

Absolutely. Works perfectly on our bikes & automobile tire both of which use Schrader valves.

Q: What is the thread pitch for the barb?

The short answer is that the threads on the threaded end of the hose barb half of this chuck are 11mm x 1.0 mm pitch. Since this chuck can be disassembled into two separate parts, i.e. the part with a hose barb on one end and a male thread on the other, and the second part, which is the "body" of the chuck (which has the handle, spring, and Schrader valve clip attached to it), this is a good question. Obviously, if you have broken one of these chucks, like the one on my C-H brand tire inflator that I was repairing, it would be nice to be able to just replace the "body" half of it, without having to un-do the crimp fitting on the old hose barb and replace it with a hose clamp later. But beware, the part that broke on my inflator was the little brass nubbin inside of the "body" that presses on the Schrader valve core to open the valve in the stem. This nubbin is machined into the threaded end of the hose-barb half of this chuck. If you've broken this nubbin, you're going to have to replace both the "body" part and the "hose barb" part, i.e. the whole darn chuck! That said, and assuming that you broke some part of the"body" or handle, the "body" part of this chuck will thread onto any existing similar hose-barb fitting with 11mmx1.0mm threads.
