Swage Right Thin Wall Aluminum Swage Sleeves Clip & Ferrules (3/8") - Oval Duplex Fiber Rope Cable Crimping Loop Fittings (Pack of 25)

I used these ferrules to secure 3/8ths braided nylon rope to eyelets for a shade sail installation. It gave the job a nice professional finished look. I didn't have a big enough crimper tool so I just wacked it twice on both sides with a hammer and a 1/4" piece of aluminum stock (see pics). This did a sufficient job of crushing the ferrule onto the rope and locking it in place. I had to mash it down pretty good due to the tension involved in my rigging arrangement. I also burnt the end of the rope afterwards to further prevent slippage (use tape on bitter end initially to get it routed into the ferrule). I opted to use heavy duty rubber bands (UV rated), rope, pulleys, and cleats to secure my sun shades in lieu of metal cables and/or turnbuckles. This allows for easy of adjustment of the shade and quick take down in case of hurricanes (I live in Florida). My rigging has already held up to 50 mph + wind gusts with no problems. Would recommend this product for the stated purpose. Maybe a companion tool (for crimping) being offered would be even better.

I used this product for dog leashes and long lines made of round Betathane. I needed thin walled ferrules to keep the leashes lightweight and these fit the bill. thank you
