Aqua Natural Galaxy Sand 10lb Substrate for aquascaping, Aquariums, vivariums and terrariums, Black

The media could not be loaded.  I really have no complaints about this sand. It looks great in my aquarium, I've used both black and white sands and they both are great. The grain size is ideal for amphibians and I've had no issues. You don't need to wash it and it settles very quickly in the aquarium 1-2 days max. My only issue is that it's a bit difficult to clean but honestly, given how quickly it settles, really getting in there to try to get all the gunk out will not overly disturb your tank. Recommend to fish keepers who don't want to be frustrated.

Washed about twice before placing inside tank. It was clear over night. Looks great in our tank.

This is overall a decent product. It's not as sparkly as you might think, and even though the package says you don't have to, you need to wash this sand!! There were so many particulates and dust -- my aquarium was cloudy for days until my filter could remove all of the debris. After the water clears it's a very nice black sand.

There are a lot of floating particles that were hard to get out and didn't want to settle at the bottom . I've had this product for about a month now and the sand is turning brown BUT it was a great price

Looks good I'm my tank.

I purchased 5 bags of sand for my 40 gallon tank. I have rinsed the sand numerous times and my tank is still cloudy. I tried emptying the tank and refilling it. Iv used the same water for my others tanks so im sure its the sand. Its pretty annoying considering the sand isn’t cheap.

Bought this for covering the soil in my plant pots as I had a rather awful fungal gnat problem and had read that fine sand would prevent the adults from laying eggs in the soil and prevent the larvae from surfacing to become adults. This combined with a bit of diatomaceous earth powder on all my houseplants really did the trick and I have not had any issues since. The sand is finer than expected and was much better quality than black sand I've bought in the past from other brands. I can't speak to its use in aquariums, but if you need some nice sand for pest control in your house plants, this will absolutely do the trick and looks great too.
