Yes. If pull the trigger lightly, it reciprocates slowly. The harder you squeeze the trigger, the faster it reciprocates.

Can you use it with one hand, or does it take two?

I’m elderly, and I can use it with one hand for short periods of time. One hand works, but two are safer.

replacing an older 18v Dewalt saw, wondering if anyone might know what the noise differential between these two is. Or any similar saw. Dewalt is loud

im guessing the old dewalt has a brushed motor. This is brushless and runs a whole lot quieter, though the amount of decibels from actually cutting something would be the same.
