Great flavor

Does this taste good? Yes. Does it taste like a fancy ketchup? Also yes. Giving 4 stars because it’s still good, but it’s not giving cherry bourbon at all.

Great flavor on baby back ribs over charcoal.

Disclaimer: I did receive this item for free to try out. HOWEVER! All opinions are my own and I pride myself on unbiased reviews that can help others decide whether something is worth it.If all his stuff is like this then I am sold on his brand. This cherry bourbon BBQ sauce is friggin good. I usually only use Sweet Baby Rays but ever since I’ve gotten this I have only been using this BBQ sauce. It goes great on pretty much everything. The taste is amazing. It’s a very unique flavor and you can taste that cherry with a hint of bourbon. I usually hate cherries but this uses actual fresh cherries. There are actual bits and pieces of it mixed in there. It’s slightly tangy and just really good. It’s hard to describe properly, it’s one of those things where you just have to taste and try it for yourself. Seriously give this one a shot. I personally wouldn’t have trusted it either and I wouldn’t have wanted to waste my money on something when I’m unsure if it tasted good so I am here to report back that this is worth the money and worth trying. Please take a chance on this internet stranger’s advice lol. You won’t be disappointed. I’m very picky with my food and I only eat yummy things. This is a yummy. :DSide Note: I was originally worried about it breaking on the way here but never fear! Apparently it’s well wrapped and comes in it’s own very sturdy box for shipping. The idiot Amazon delivery dude actually threw my packages over our 6ft fence (I don’t know why they didn’t just leave it at the front door) and I freaked out thinking it’s probably broken. It did not break. The jar is actually very thick and sturdy also. Great for reusing after you’re done. Also this is a 16 oz jar so it’s gonna be a very decent amount of bbq sauce!(Please note I have not caught Covid at all so my taste buds are completely unaltered. I dunno if that might be important or not to some folks but just thought I'd mention it for full transparency for this review. :3)

We love trying different sauces. This Midwestern Cherry Bourbon barbecue sauce sounded like a unique, tasty treat and something that we would definitely enjoy. (and that we did!)Before actually tasting the sauce, I was a little unsure about the cherry flavor. I was hoping that it wouldn't overpower the other flavors with an overabundance of tart cherry flavor. It definitely didn't! The flavor is slightly sweet, tangy, and a little spicy. There is definitely some heat in this! Whew! With the addition of dried cayenne pepper, my mouth was feeling the heat without feeling the need to get the fire extinguisher. I'm a total spicy food wimp and this wasn't too spicy for me. The cherry and bourbon flavors do come through, pairing perfectly with the acidity of the tomatoes and vinegar.We tried this on boneless chicken wings, pork chops and also on grilled chicken breast. YUM! It also made a scrumptious dipping sauce for chicken tenders and spring rolls. My stomach is grumbling just thinking about it.I love that the consistency isn't overly thin. It definitely has the "cling" factor going on, making it more versatile to use in many different ways/dishes.

I was skeptical about how good this would be when I ordered this, but I definitely wasn't prepared to be wowed like this. This is a new favorite of mine!Flavor:This sauce has many flavor notes. It's a bit sweet, with a bit of tang, and a bite at the end. If you like sweet and spicy barbeque sauces, you'll love this. The flavor of this is complex, but very well balanced. There's no one flavor that's overpowering, or too weak.Texture:This is a somewhat thin barbeque sauce. It's great as a dipping sauce and directly on things, but I do recommend adding it on top of meat in the last 10 or so minutes so it's warmed and a little baked on top, but doesn't get too thin.Versatility:This sauce has been great with both beef and pork thus far, but it'd make great barbeque chicken, ribs, pulled pork, barbeque shrimp, etc. It works surprisingly well with a spectrum of other flavors thanks to it's complex flavors.Overall I highly recommend giving this a try. If you like barbeque, this is worth keeping your house stocked with!

The taste and consistency was great. Not too sweet or tangy. The consistency was great for dipping sauce. I used it on top of chicken for baking.
