Pretty nice bottle for the price
I try to drink a lot of water throughout the day. I usually carry an uninsulated 64 oz. Kleen Kanteen with me to work every day and have no trouble emptying it. This wasn't enough, however, and I would get thirsty by the end of the day. I decided that I needed to drink a full gallon every day to ward off thirst and to account what I lose during exercise, etc. This jug was my solution. I waited until Prime Days and then searched for a gallon water jug. I tried to strike a balance between low price and good reviews. This jug was the most economical option that had consistently high reviews, and a lot of them mentioned how durable it was. OK, I'm sold. A lot of reviews mentioned the size. Yep, it's huge, and full of water it weighs about 12 lbs. according to another reviewer that actually weighed it. It takes both hands to drink out of this thing. For me, the size is the only thing that I'm on the fence about. I'm still trying to decide if carrying a full gallon is a better option than refilling my 2-quart Kleen Kanteen at work. It's certainly no fault of the jug-- a gallon-sized container is going to be bigger than a 2-quart container no matter what-- but it is a consideration if you have to lug this thing around. I certainly feel the weight and, while it's not a deal breaker for me, it's certainly something to consider. I'm trying to avoid abusing it, so far durability seems good. I toss it into my large rucksack with a Stanley steel lunchbox, and so far the powdercoated finish has zero scratches on it. I was leery of the handle being screwed into the plastic cap, but the whole thing feels very sturdy. I don't swing it like a kettlebell or anything, but the plastic cap seems to have no trouble standing up to the weight of this thing, which was my main concern. The cap seals tight. The jug is so large that I have to lay it sideways in my rucksack. Not a drop has leaked so far despite being jostled on its side while I ride my motorcycle, walk up and down stairs, etc. I haven't tried it with warm liquids, but it keeps water cool all day. I fill it with tap water in the morning and it stays about the same temperature. When summer comes, I'll fill it with ice water and see, but from other reviews I expect that the insulation will work just fine. One other thing: I fill mine in the sink because it doesn't fit in my refrigerator's water dispenser. That means I fill it with regular tap water instead of my fridge's cold, filtered water. The tap water in my area is pretty good (water quality reports from the local water company shows almost no detectable contaminants and the taste is fine) so I don't mind. However, if you want to fill yours with filtered water, you're either going to be standing at your fridge forever waiting for this thing to fill up, or you're going to want to invest in an auxiliary filter for your sink. I paid less than $35 for this jug when I bought it, and at that price the value is excellent. As of January 2025, it's hovering around the $40 mark, which is still a good price for a gallon jug of this quality. So far I'm very happy with mine. If there's anything to report in the future, I'll update this review.

Convenient, works well. Very satisfied with the product for the price I paid.
I needed a large container to carry soup to a party in, and to keep it warm during the 30 minute drive, and the expected 2-3 hour wait before serving it. This container has a nice wide mouth that made it easy to fill and serve from, and even having opened it several times over the course of the evening, by the time I got home 10 and a half hours later, the soup inside was still almost too hot to eat without letting it cool a little after putting it in a bowl. The wide mouth also made it easy to clean. The container is also very sturdy and well-made, with a robust handle to carry it by, and the dual lid (wide mouth for filling/cleaning, smaller for pouring) makes it very convenient. I wasn't sure how much I would need to spend for something that worked for my needs, as I'd never "shopped for a thermos" before, but I'm quite satisfied with what I got for the price I paid.

Good quality
I like it... for reference I've had to for about a month. Obviously I didn't measure it but the wall of the thermose is probably about half an inch thick, so I imagine it holds temp well (I drink room temp stuff on purpose, so idk) It hasn't leaked, the lid quality is top notch among thermoses I've used, and overall its quite hardy. I work in a rougher environment and it hasn't even dented yet, and since its stainless steel it doesn't noticably scratch either. The grip is pretty great considering how big it is. its capacity is as expected, it stores enough water to last you the whole day. Lastly it certainly can house hot fluids, but keep in mind, its a BIG thermose, its going to be HARDER TO CLEAN. Being hard to clean is more of something to be expected but just keep that in mind when this is in consideration, but if you have the patience to clean this, then its probably the best thermose you are going to find if you are avoiding microplastics.

Buy it
It is exactly what I hoped it would be. Boxed and shipped well, works perfectly. It was also CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I washed it out anyway with Dawn, then rinsed it probably 6 times, because that's what I do. When done with all that OCD work, it looked exactly like it did before I washed it. There had not been a hint of grime, dirt, oil residue, soap residue, drying spots, nothing. Why did I pick black, when I love bare stainless steel? Because of so many reviews where people who bought the bare one, burned themselves picking it up after it sat in the sun. Yes, black will get hot in the sun also, but I think it is safer for two reasons. First, you expect something black in the sun to be really hot. Second, paint does not conduct heat as well as metal, so even at the same temp, the paint is slightly insulating, to keep the heat in the metal from conducting into your skin as fast as possible. I was a trombonist in marching band, and know how hot metal can just continue to pump heat into you for several seconds when you touch it, or cold metal can even freeze to your lips if you're not careful. The black happens to look really good, also. And last but not least, when I'm car camping, almost all of my gear is black, so that it's harder to see what's in my car. Usually I cover it with black cloth additionally, but of course there are times when my stuff is left uncovered for ease of getting at it. Update after using it for about 3 months: Still loving it. I filled it with great tap/well water at home, which contains a fair amount of minerals. I know this, because when distilling a gallon of water, it leaves the minerals deposited on the stainless distiller, which then has to be scrubbed with vinegar every gallon we make. But in this jug, I filled it and took it to my warehouse, mainly to use for occasionally cooking macaroni with in the microwave there. After 2 months of that, it was under 1/4 full, so I brought it home to refill with the well water. I wasn't sure whether to expect mineral rings at each level it had sat at over the months. I wasn't sure whether the rust spots shown in someone's review would have appeared in it. The answer was none of the above. I poured out the water, and it looked brand new. I rinsed it a couple of times and refilled it, now knowing not to worry about letting it sit for weeks or months with water in it. Maybe your mileage might vary if your water has a very acidic or caustic pH, or different minerals. But for me, I'm going to continue using the well water in it, no need to instead switch to using distilled or reverse osmosis water to keep it clean and spotless under conditions of very intermittent use after filling it. Update after 6 months. I've been using up the gallon and refilling it once or twice a week now. Still no problems. I think I'm going to experiment with cooking a batch of food in my instant pot, putting it in this, and having a hot meal the next day. If I like the result, I'll get a second one for that. Maybe a third one to put a ziploc of ice in, and a ziploc of leftovers, and see how long it stays cold, for shorter missions in the car than actual car camping, which I bring a 50 liter 12V fridge/freezer in the car for.

As advertised - great value for the money
Great gallon jug that is well made and very sturdy should be able to use for many years to come. The insulation has worked well and maintains the desired beverage temperature. I love the wide mouth opening, which is a plus to make it easy to clean.

Sleek jug (and healthier alternative to plastic)
This Kerilyn water jug is amazing! I currently live in a location where the water needs to be softened and I'm unable to drink the tap. I've taken the jug to be refilled with water twice already - it's very sturdy and is a nice and clean design. The lid goes on smoothly and tightens well and the spout on top doesn't just flop open - it's adjustable to how far back you need it to be so you can pour efficiently. Also, the handle has a softness in its placement and adjusts very well for your hand placement for transporting. Very pleased with this item!
