July 21, 2019 OK, So, I am writing another review on top of my first review for this company and this bed because I can't figure out how to write a second review for the same product. (Or if it's possible to do so.). This company is one in a million! It's not a great time to be a consumer, in this world, however, the people at King Koil (Patrick) have proved me wrong and have gone far beyond what anyone would expect from an air mattress company!! They replaced my bed - TWICE!! If you have ever gone to Target or Walmart and bought an air mattress for yourself, please take note of how the manufacturer has shielded themselves from any returns, whatsoever! (One particular, well known, Canadian company comes to my mind - no problem for them to take your money and run!) It's very hard, for some reason, for air mattress companies to stand behind their product. King Koil however, makes it clear that your satisfaction, as a customer, is VERY important to them. Your review of their product and your "word of mouth" makes a difference to them. They feel confident about their product and if you are unsatisfied with it, in any way, they want to make it right with you. I'd have to search Amazon at long time to come across a review that tells the world that they would be foolish to purchase a similar product from any other company in the WORLD! BTW, this review should have been written a few months ago. I apologize for the delay (I've been a little busy). Thank you to King Koil for standing by your product and replacing my purchase twice. I appreciate your commitment to customer satisfaction, your speedy emails back to me (Patrick) and for making the replacement effortless. I'm very sorry for not getting this review up sooner as I don't want to diminish my appreciation. You guys are great and my mattress is unbelievable comfortable!! Thank you!!!!!! I cannot tell explain how happy I am with the customer service for this company. Before that though, let me mention that the bed is beautiful and I love the self inflate feature that allows you to just plug it in, turn a dial and it inflates immediately. No pulling out a separate item that has to be purchased, plugging it in, trying to reach the bed to blow it up, etc...... This is a no hassle inflating procedure. I had the bed about 9 months and it developed a slow leak. I figured I would need to purchase another but checked my receipt to see when I purchased it and noticed that it had a year long guarantee. I contacted the company, through Amazon and within 5 minutes I got an email back stating that my bed was under guarantee and they would send me a replacement. They wanted a picture of the "damage". After a couple days, I checked the bed and could not find where the leak was coming from. I wrote another email back to them and again - 5 minutes later received a reply stating "no problem, we will rush you a replacement.”- “No need to send back the damaged bed!” What a relief to not have to deal with repacking the damaged bed and mailing it back to them. Within 2 days - I received a replacement. What a breeze!!! This was top-notch customer service! After dealing with a competitor of King Koil’s a few years back, I cannot explain how impressed I was by King Koil's customer service and how quickly they stood by their product. A few years ago, after purchasing an air bed from a competitor, I noticed that mold had developed on the top of the mattress. I sent a picture to the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement. Several months later, I took the bed out to use and after blowing it up, I discovered that they had sent me a cheaper, low end bed that was substantially smaller than the one I had originally purchased. When I called and emailed the manufacturer, they told me that my bed was now no longer covered under the warranty so they wouldn't do anything about it. I told them that THEY made an error (I don't really think it was an error). They would not stand by their product or their mistake. I believe they shipped me an inferior product replacement because that is how they do business. They also make it clear, in writing, all over the box and on literature inside the box, that it will not be easy to return this product. I will never buy another product from that competitor's company and I make sure that I tell everyone I know not to buy from them. They are unprofessional, the quality is awful and the customer service is horrendous. I am so pleased with King Koil and the person that emailed me back several times to help me resolve my issue. More than once, Patrick wrote in his email that "we are here for you". Thank you, Patrick!!! It was a pleasure to work with you and I am very pleased with my purchase. We were very impressed with the height, the comfort, the quick inflation and quick deflation! I was also pleased to see that it folded up pretty easily so that it fit in the storage bag. For the price, it is an excellent way to provide another place to sleep!

This is a very nice blow up mattress that my grandsons thought would be a great place to sleep. They thought the pillow was a very smart idea. I totally agree too. The only problem is that I ordered the 20 inch height and we received the 16 inch. So I called the company and spoke with a very nice young man named Kevin who apologized for the inconvenience and said they would refund my money. He had me go to the website and order another one so that is what I did and hopefully that one will be the height as it really is a nice mattress that my grandsons said was very comfortable. I had bought a twin size Intex brand blow up mattress and our grands said it was not very comfortable to sleep on. I had another blow up mattress that we used for 17 years until it got a rip in it. I’ve done a lot of research by reading reviews on different brands and this is the one that had the best reviews that were consistent with one another. After speaking to customer service I am even more impressed with this company and know I made the best decision on choosing this one out of the seven I was leaning towards to buy. These days great customer service is hard to come by it seems but this company is top notch as far as I am concerned. You will not be disappointed as it’s an easy set up and take down. There were no leaks and it didn’t need to have any more air added the following day. The velour top is very nice plus the cord storage is so handy. I watched so many videos for hours and that is why I chose this brand as I saw the other ones leaking or hissing with the auto refill to keep it aired up. No one wants to hear that when you have guests sleeping on it and it keeps you awake from refilling during the night. The bag is a nice way to keeps your mattress in and carry it to where you store it. King Koil for the win for me. I can’t wait to get the mattress in for the correct height we need.

The pros: this mattress was pretty comfortable, although my wife felt like she was constantly getting pushed off of it, if the two of us were on it. It has a luxurious feel to it too. It's nice and soft. Very cool that it self inflates also. The cons: it lets air out over time. We may have gotten a faulty model but we just didn't feel it stayed fully inflated. Ultimately we returned it but would buy it again to chance getting a better product because we love the King Koil brand.

I had a very bad experience with my King Koil Bed but when I contacted them, they went way out of their way to make me happy. They sent me a brand new bed in no time at all. I didn’t have to go the trouble of sending the old leaky one back either. They were super apologetic and after a year of replacement they called me to see how my bed is. I used it a few times since the trail ride and it was just fine. I used it for guests to sleep on. There were no complaints. I will be doing the same trail ride again at the end of the month. I am pretty sure that I won’t have the same problems as what I had last year. I would recommend King Koil for their super customer service. The beds are very very comfortable and if there is a problem contact them and they will most definitely take care of ur complaints pronto. I am thinking that the customer service is more important than the product. So if ur looking for a very comfy air bed that’s easy to climb in and out of, give them a try. I highly recommend King Koil. They treated me like roayalty. This had to be the worst purchase that I have ever made through Amazon. I am so disappointed. I replaced a queen size airbed to use in my tent when I went on my over night trail rides. My queen size was excellent but it took up too much room so I was delighted when this thing was delivered. I did everything that the instructions told me to do, I filled it, which was super slick. I left it up for a couple of days like they suggested so it could stretch. They said that it would go a bit soft, which it did. I did not lay on it at all, just left it and then deflated it and packed it away for my week long trail ride and camp out. I packed it in my vehicle and was super excited to get it out of the bag and filled it up while in my tent. I used an extension cord and my inverter. It filled beautifully. I put a foam pad and a huge and thick comforter under it because of previous experiences with airbeds in tents. The air in the bed gets extremely cold if you don't put it on top of something to insulate it against the cold ground. I put a queen size fitted sheet on it and then my feather down sleeping bag covering myself with a feather comforter. It was so comfortable, until the morning. It had gone very soft. No problem, the instructions said that this might happen. I accepted it. As the week wore on, this bed got worse and worse. I had to fill it twice, once in the day and then before I went to bed, it was still very very soft in the morning. I wasn't getting any sleep at all and I was extremely stiff from the way that it had me encapsulated. I felt like a sausage in a bun. The very last night and the 6th night of my ride, was just the worst. I hadn't been able to sleep on this horrid thing, it was getting worse and worse. I needed my sleep (riding horses for 8 hours a day). Just before I went to bed, I filled it AGAIN.. it was firm and very comfy. At 3 am, my feet were way up in the air and my head was on the ground. It had lost pretty much all of its air. I was in tears, I gathered up all of my blankets and went to my SUV to see if I could get some sleep. No good, it was totally against the reason I am in a tent. It was so uncomfortable, andI need to see and hear the horses through the night. Back to the tent I went, pushed the totally deflated KING KOIL MATTRESS to the side and slept on top of the foam and comforters. I finally got some sleep. I am so frustrated!!! I want my money back and I never want to see this thing again.. I did my research.. this was supposed to be just awesome.. well, its total junk and I am now going to contact the company.. If I could give it no stars, I would.. I am so tired.. and my vacation/trail ride was ruined

Buyer beware. This product contains noxious chemicals that are damaging to your health and will have lasting effects on the quality of your homes environment. I purchased this King Koil 16" queen air mattress as a means of having my parents stay over. I read that it is ideal to have it blown up and left out over a number of hours 1) So as to let the bed best maintain its shape and 2) to let it air out as it may come with an unpleasant scent. My unboxing started off with opening the well designed box in my living room, excited to test out my new air mattress. I took off the plastic wrapping, and then unfolded the bed. Suddenly an overpowering chemical odor filled my room. I felt the need to bring the bed into my office and close the door so that the odor wouldn't fill the whole house. At this point, I had a painful headache suddenly erupt. I opened both of my windows and turned on the fan. At first I figured the scent would be akin to the foam mattress I had purchased years ago, and that the scent would quickly dissipate. I proceeded to follow the instructions to plug in the mattress and let it inflate. What followed what could best be described as a compressor that was optimized for efficiency but did not even in the slightest consider user experience. The fan was extremely efficient and filled the bed within 2 minutes. However, it was an extremely high pitch whine that was painful to be next to. I had to leave the room. I realized at this point the odor had filled the house. I proceeded to open up all of my houses windows and turned on all of the fans. When I saw the bed was nearly full, I re-entered my office and turned off the compressor. I decided to follow the instructions and let it sit for 8-12 hours over night while I left one of the office's windows open and fan on. I turned off the fans and closed the windows to the rest of the house a few hours later before bed. My headache didn't go away that night. The next morning I woke up with an excruciating headache. The chemical odor was still extremely strong in my house. I opened all the windows and turned on all the fans again. When I opened the door to my office I was overpowered by the chemical smell, despite the fan and window being open all night. I immediately deflated the air mattress, being sure to close my office door behind me so as to contain the odor, and packed the mattress into its travel bag attempting to get rid of the odor. At this time, the mattress had a much fainter odor. The odor in the office, however, remained very powerful. I opened my second office window & let the office air out over the entire day. By the end of the day, after having all windows open and fans on, the odor was only faint in certain parts of the house but remained strong in my office. That night, with the odor still very strong in the office, I noticed that there was a fine layer of black particles covering many surfaces. Upon reflection, I inevitably inhaled whatever this was & it is likely what caused my headaches. I decided to sweep, dust, and deep clean the office. This significantly helped remove the odor - however, it was still present. I left the window open and fan on over night. The next morning I was no longer having headaches and the scent was no longer in any part of the house other than the office, where it was still noticeably present but no longer overwhelming. Unfortunately, I had to work in this environment. I left the windows open and fan on all day. It was at this point that I decided that I couldn't in good conscious have my parents sleep on this mattress. I set it up through Amazon to return it the next day. By the next morning the odor no longer was noticeable in my office. On the other hand, I am questioning what potential long term effects this experience could have on my body. The King Koil Air Mattress is made of PVC. PVC is made with a number of chemicals that are released throughout its lifespan. This includes chemicals such as Phthalates to help soften the PVC. According to the National Institute of Health "Phthalates are a series of widely used chemicals that demonstrate to be endocrine disruptors and are detrimental to human health. Phthalates can be found in most products that have contact with plastics during producing, packaging, or delivering. Despite the short half-lives in tissues, chronic exposure to phthalates will adversely influence the endocrine system and functioning of multiple organs, which has negative long-term impacts on the success of pregnancy, child growth and development, and reproductive systems in both young children and adolescents." It is truly a crime against humanity that a product made of such hazardous material could be sold to people at all, let alone in the name of profit. It's extremely concerning that at the time of writing this was one of the highest rated mattresses on Amazon. On the other hand, there are other air mattresses out there that use thermal plastics (TPU), are Phthalate free, are the same price, and will inevitably be a much more worthwhile investment. Please take the time to seek these out rather than purchasing this mattress. Bottom line: For the health of yourself and your family - do not buy this mattress.

Really great mattress! I had to move downstairs due to a foot surgery and purchased this mattress to put in my living room. I am on week 8 of sleeping on this, and it has exceeded all expectations. I typically like a softer mattress as I am a side sleeper, but needed to sleep on my back for the first few weeks post-op to keep my foot elevated. When fully inflated, this mattress provides good support and is actually really comfortable. As my foot healed, I was able to side sleep, so would let the mattress deflate a bit so that it was softer. Again, very comfortable. Keeps air well. For full inflation, would recommend topping off daily; for a softer bed, I would only top off every few days. Also, very easy to inflate / deflate. Highly recommend this mattress!

OK, I'm getting lazy about reviewing products, maybe because some are average, or just fine but not fantabulous in the kind of way I feel it requires a review, but this requires me to do a review, because mine is a storyline that leads me to why I bought this mattress! First off, I've slept on a waterbed since I've been married, 30 years now, and no not one of those wiggly waterbeds that make you nauseated, but the fiber filled kind that expands as you fill it; makes the waterbed firm enough to sit on and never sink in, nonetheless, it's still a nice comfy waterbed, we loved it, best bed we could have ever asked for, not like these super firm hard beds nowadays that I can't even get comfortable on! So anyhow, recently we required cats, more than one, yes we've had a cat before, just one, but never did he put any holes in the waterbed...so now you know! It was a dark and stormy night, it was thundering and lightening, there was water everywhere... Hehehe, kidding!!! It was night, I was going to sleep, my sheet was wet on my side of the bed, there was water dripping on the rug, and we did have to drain it right away, which took all night and no sleep! I wish I could put emojis to dramatize this more!! So, around 6am I got to sleep, on a bed my mom had given us, a small full size that was so darn HARD...emojis please!!! To say the least, NO SLEEP!!! Out of desperation, I went to my trusty Amazon app, I looked through the Air Beds, I read about them, I liked the explanation on King Koil, that it has coils in the middle, plus the fact they had a Cal King like our now defunct waterbed! I bought it, paid for it to come in like RIGHT AWAY...emojis please!! I was DESPERATE!! The first night sleeping on my mom's bed was MISERY...PLEASE PUT EMOJIS AMAZON!! I was ecstatic when the King Koil came in, the first night sleep was magical, danggit, you really need to put emojis on your reviews Amazon! So, before this ends up being a book, or novel (which is a book), I'll just say, we've had this bed for a week this Friday, but of course by the time anyone reads this, it'll probably be a month, or year, or more, who knows! We LOVE it, the first night it did loose air, but we refilled it, now it's GREAT! I actually didn't mind the softer bed the first night when it lost some air, afterall I'm used to the waterbed! But we've had NO PROBLEMS, and YES, we're protecting it from the dastardly cats with thick blankets and pillows, but it's OK, so far, cross my fingers (emojis) I think it's Heavenly sleeping on this airbed!! Oh, and in case you're wondering about comparisons, many years ago we did have another airbed, but it was NO WHERE near as nice as this one, we ended up giving it away to someone who needed it for company. So I don't know why some reviews aren't so good, but I think it's just GREAT!!! I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY Recommend it for all and any!! I needed to come back and add that it is the most simplest thing to lay out and fill up, the attached air pump makes it really fast, anyone could do it!
