Great coffee table book, it’s not a cook book
I thought it would have some good recipes or tricks of the trade but it didn’t. Still a really cool book

Who has it better than them
This is NOT a recipe book... it is mostly pictures and stories of people across Texas who smoke meat. It was fantastic, and a great coffee table book to tell everyone that you are serious about smoking meat!!!

Wyatt's Work Well Worth the Wait!
Several months ago, I heard a rumor that famed Texas photographer Wyatt McSpadden was coming out with a second book, published by the University of Texas Press, on the legendary realm of Texas BBQ. Now it's out, I've got it, and I can assure you it is well worth the wait! Texas BBQ, Small Town to Downtown covers everything about Texas BBQ that he couldn't get around to in his first volume - the pitmasters who craft it and the best places to find it, from big cities to backcountry. All with such gorgeous photograpy that you don't even have to be a carnivore to love it. As a former long-time resident of Texas, I highly recommend it!

This book, TXBBQ, is a treasure.Wyatt McSpadden's photos take youinto the world of BBQ joints all acrossTexas. You will experiencethe sympathetic smells because you arethere, in the midst of these places and thesouls of these "smoking" men and women making thisstory possible. The design of the book ismagnificent. Five stars? Hmm. This bookgoes to eleven.P.S. Make your Christmas shoppingeasy. You won't miss on this one.

High level photography of Texas’s treasured bbq joints
Stunning photography of some of the best and most interesting barbecue joints in Texas. Aaron Franklin’s story was enjoyable as was Daniel Vaughn expresses today’s state of Texas barbecue in an eloquent essay. Wyatt superbly captures images from iconic barbecue joints and sprinkles in just the right amount on new arrivals on to the Texas barbecue scene. You get something new every time you flip through the pages of this book.
