Estupendo

An Amazing Representation of an Underrepresented Character
It's been a long road to get to this point.Dr. Eggman, the main villain of the Sonic series since it began, has always been given the cold shoulder when it comes to merchandise and marketing. In the US, thanks to awful Americanised "Robotnik" redesigns, every toy of the character was not the same version that appeared in the original Mega Drive games. Even in Japan, where the original design had plush toy representation, they always seemed somewhat "off" compared to the animal characters. He was either too small (the "Sonic the Fighters" line), or just cheaply made (the original "Sonic the Hedgehog" UFO catcher line). In 2008, Impact International started selling Sonic plush toys. I picked up both Sonic and "Tails", excited at the prospect that Knuckles and Eggman would soon follow - despite the toys not looking that great. Unfortunately, they sold poorly (a blessing, in retrospect). While Knuckles was released in limited quantities, I discovered after emailing an Impact Int. sales person in 2009 that it was unlikely that an Eggman plush would be made. In 2010, they lost their licence to the series entirely.Flash forward to 2015, and Great Eastern finally fills the void. Make no mistake, this is the definitive plush toy of Dr. Eggman. The first thing that strikes you is that the toy actually looks better than the promotional photo. This is rare, as many photos are of prototypes that often feature more detail than the finished toy. Indeed, the picture of the Great Eastern Sonic the Hedgehog plush looks a little better than the final plush that I received from them. So, if the slightly stretched looking face on the promo photo is off putting, rest assured that it's not a problem that plagues the final product.Every detail of the character's design has been captured perfectly. His blue sunglasses and teeth are rendered in a vinyl plastic, which works wonderfully. Not using a reflective plastic makes the toy seem identical to the original art assets that the plush is based off of.His moustache, collar, and buttons are all in felt. Worth noting is the inclusion of Eggman's yellow cape that is connected to his collar. An integral part of the character's design that is often forgotten by companies producing merchandise of him. Both the collar, cape and moustache are sewn at select important areas, so you can move them around a little, which is a nice touch. The rest of the character is made of a soft cotton fiber, with the gloves being a slightly harsher polyester. One minor complaint that I have with my version of the plush is that one arm has a slightly longer sleeve (which can be rolled up and down) than the other. Your mileage may vary on this though, and it is ever so slight that it's not a real problem. The plush is sizable (14 inches, in height) and does not suffer from what I call "Short EggMan Syndrome". He towers over the other Great Eastern Sonic plush toys, as he does in the Sonic games themselves, which just adds to the general attention to detail. The stitching of the character is standard for Great Eastern's Classic Sonic line. I've read multiple reviews of each character suggesting that the thin arms and delicate stitching may not make this toy suitable for small children who want to "play". The character also comes with a cotton loop protruding from his head for hanging and displaying. In closing, I cannot recommend this toy enough for collectors. It is a fantastic representation of a neglected character design. Even with the delicate stitching and slightly mismatched sleeves, it's a plush that I am going to proudly display at the forefront of my Sonic the Hedgehog collection. For parents looking for a toy for their child to play with however, it may be best to look elsewhere.

Close to perfect!
This Dr. Robotnik plush is one of the nicest I've had. The stuffing it uses is very nice, both being soft and sturdy so it doesn't fall apart easily. Felt used for his clothing is clean and we'll taken care of, no obvious stitching anywhere on it. Did I forget to mention how big this he is? The body is bigger than the average person's head, with little legs about half the size. I don't have a problem with it, the size is great. I honestly couldn't find a problem with this plush, it's a great choice for any Ivo Robotnik fan out there.

An excellent Dr. Eggman plush.
Dr. Eggman looks even better in real life! An excellent representation of the character. He might be evil but he is so cute, especially in plush form. The manufacture is excellent and is a decent size to hold. I collect Sonic characters and this is going to be a worthy addition.
