The good thing about this item is that it rolls out to the length you need. I also have the tile type and they tend to separate.It keeps my cats from the couch and other areas I don't want them. The kitten is the one that tries to adventure in between the spikes since his paws are small.I definitely recommend.

I got this to keep my dogs off the top of my couch and it’s working great! You can cut to any size.

Works great. Takes a few months for it to lose its manufacturing waves from being tightly wound up & bound. *Wish it had longer spikes & closer together. My small dog can jump over it, & my cats actually walk on it. It'd be terrific if there were more size options, for example, wider. American furniture has deep seats. An entire 2- to 2½' would be awesome.

Good quality...cats hate it! Does have a formed curl due to packaging but using a hair dryer or heat gun on low helps flatten.

After the stove shorted out when cleaning cat pee, I tried those battery mats that shock. They didn't last. This keeps them off the stove and counters.

I have a 6 month old kitten that has started playing with toy mice on the kitchen table. She likes to lay up there too so that I come over and remove her. She’s persistent and it’s not a game I enjoy. One roll mostly covered my table (cut into 3 sections). She actually walked around on it at first. But she definitely can’t lay up there or play games anymore. Day 2 and she’s stopped jumping up, but exhales loudly after contemplating it. Just bought another roll to tape to my kitchen countertop. There are other high surfaces in my kitchen that I don’t mind her playing on or laying on - I hope to train her to use those instead.

The cats still walked on it. The spikes initially was a deterrant, however once they realized that it was not harmful it became useless

I gave the COMFORT rating a 1 because the cats find it too prickly for them to walk on. Well, I love this thing so plane but very use full. I also use it outside to keep my 2 new puppies from chowing on some of y plants.
