The Campaign Expansion is much maligned... but this!
Altho Scarlet Keys' campaign was a widely panned mess, the Investigator cards that came with it are VERY GOOD. Thank goodness for these new release formats, we can purchase just the investigator cards if the campaign that comes with it isn't up to AH's lofty standards.

Are we even playing Arkham Horror anymore?
This is not like Arkham Horror, and very not Lovecraftian in theme. This is James Bond/Indiana Jones/Anime/The Prisoner. Totally different vibe than any Arkham games and the theme is action adventure, and nowhere near horror. The enemies have nothing to do with the Mythos. All the bad guys just "smirk" at you in every level like condescending Anime villains. Then there is the walls of text and novels of reading before even getting to play. Prepare to set aside 1 hour of playing time to read a bunch of filler that does not matter because (slight spoiler) 90% of plays will end up with the same grand finally, and very little can be done to change that. If you don't do research before playing this, then you are likely only going to play 4 scenarios as part of your whole campaign, and spend hours just reading. MJ Newman did great things for Arkham horror, but this was the wrong direction to take the LCG. With her departure, Arkham Horror can get back on track to actually being about horror, and not some Pulp Action Anime dragon ball(key) battle. In terms of gameplay, the scenarios are fine (minus anything Lovecraftian whatsoever) and somewhat enjoyable. Just the wall of text and reading, and the open world completely ruin this campaign and give me little reason to want to play through it again. The worst campaign after The Forgotten Age. At least the Forgotten Age could be fixed with The Return to The Forgotten Age.

Box damaged.
Item arrived damaged after being delayed. It was the only item damaged in the box.

The worst campaign since Dream-Eaters
Weirdly political, anachronistic (even by the standards of the Arkham Files), and bloated. Too much pulp and not enough horror.

Are people even playing the same game?
Arkham lcg is one of my favorite games. I’ve loved each campaign even the ones most others complain about. This one is 90% reading and is confusing in its setup. The story is just so so and while things are connected, they are very loose which is understandable in an open world adventure. This makes for a confusing time especially if you aren’t able to play everyday and you forget things. The new characters are also pretty bad if you plan on buying the character expanaion. (It has some decent cards)
