IR Illuminators 96pcs,High Power Infrared LED Lights for Security Camera

These are sheet metal but seem solid enough. To be waterproof. Very bright and almost invisible visually only very faint red glow when on, but a true flood light to the IR camera

I purchased this 96-LED rectangular IR illuminator for $22 in January 2024. It draws 0.57A at 12.1V. That's 6.9W. However, not all of that power goes to the LEDs. Each set of 8, 6-LED strings has a current regulator that dissipates 2.5 of the 12.1 V applied (1.4W total). Each string also contains a 27-ohm resistor, dropping about 0.9V (0.5 W total). The net power applied to the LEDs is 5.0 W. The circuit pushes about 34 mA through each LED. Vf at room temperature is around 1.48 V. Common 850 nm LEDs have a maximum current rating of 30 mA and recommended current of 20 mA. Thus, this device might overdrive its LEDs and cause early failure of same. To enable the LEDs to last longer, one may need to change the current-sensing resistor.My initial experience is that this unit illuminates a small spot in my back yard. I was hoping for a floodlight, but this unit is better for illuminating a single object or region of interest.

Works good but not as diffused or spread out as much as I would like. Acts more like a spot light than I was hoping for. Put it up on the barn corner to illuminate the lot so I could see with my security camera if any one tried to sneek around the corner. It does the job but is a little to narrow up close to the barn. I guess I could fix the problem by mounting it farther away but I don't have electricity anywhere close except where it is and already used an extension for it.

I ordered this item on 12/6/2024/ Installed on 12/16/2024. It is less than a month in service and 90% of the LEDs are no longer producing more than a minimal glow. They have zero illuminating effect on the scene they are supposed to be lighting which is the steps to my front porch only about 10-12 feet away!I'd give it zero stars, but one is the least that Amazon will allow.Total trash!

I honestly thought this was a good light for the price point however, the flimsy little metal bracket that comes with it and the screws that strip out whenever you try to mount it that’s a different story if they were just to maybe stiffen the bracket and use better screws it might just be a top notch light

As other costumers have reported, I too lost several LEDs after a couple years of service. The new light has excellent reach across the yard (Picture). It has taken me years to figure out the illuminated pattern, but I finally got it. Each LED radiates some IR from the sides which illuminates like a flood light. It also radiates a pretty well focused beam that has a LONG reach. There is a diminished illumination about 20' out from the light before the focused beam takes over. I bought another one to pair with it and light up my front yard. The LEDs are barely visible to the naked eye. I have a similar model that has six high powered LEDs that are very visible at 25 feet.

My 3rd IR Illuminator. Works great However be sure you now the NM of your security camera and that the Illuminator matches the NM of your camera. My cameras are 850 nm. I previously ordered an illuminator that was 940 nm. If they're not the same, they won't work together.

I have been buying these units for about 5 years. Most do not last over a year. My most recent unit lasted 5 months. The mfg used to offer a 2 year warranty but the only thing on the Amazon pages says to contact the mfg but there is no link. I think I am out of luck. Time for a change to a more reliable supplier.
