Great for price point!
For the price, this is brilliant! The screen quality is spot on, it’s instant to wake up so no logging in every time and makes it super easy to use. It works really well with online Office365 suites and similar (Google) - you can download straight to your One Drive meaning storage capacity isn’t really an issue. The touch screen is a nice bonus for when you want something instantly. I bought a wireless mouse based on other reviews but haven’t needed to use it yet. It’s quite big but that’s more due to the screen size and it’s a huge upgrade from my old Dell laptop! I’ve not really tested the battery life yet as I’m always near a plug.

Price and Qaulity.
The item arrived on time and was well packaged.Within 5 minutes it was charging and I powered up.The set up screen is simple to follow but been a chromebook you will need a Google chrome account to continue set up or create a new account.Set will take a while on its own whilst installing latest updates. After above I went into settings and adjusted to my own preferences the display and so on.This HP machine is large by no means, just under 2 kilo.I bought to replace my old Samsung galaxy tab due to poor eyesight as my 7se is mainly social and entertainment these days, surfing.I used it downstairs in tab mode and in bed for YouTube vids also in tab mode. The machine was responsive, touch screen and keyboard except for trying to figure out method for caps lock.I'm not a tech whiz. Now then, after the review above I snt mine back for a refund.................WHYAt 300 pounds I thought the machine was slightly flimsy and a poorly fitted touchpad as I reported to Amazon on returning.Since then I have tried 2 other brands that were smaller but found them unstable after a few tabs were open so sent them back also.My Son who is in IT informed me that the HP model is OK, they are now designed for the sea at end of life.A long story short I will purchase again in spring sale but not at 300 pounds as I think it's not good value.Hoping they are discounted.

Fast turning on
My windows laptop while still pretty good spec on paper is a few years old and takes so long booting up that I pretty much stopped using it out of frustration but there are still circumstances where I need something other than a tablet or a phone. For what I primarily use the laptop for I decided to give a chromebook a go instead and I am really pleased. It was very easy to set up and its so quick to turn on. I can actually turn it on and get started rather than turn it on and go make a cup of coffee, come back check on its progress do something else.I did debate getting a smaller one as I use a 13 inch laptop for work happily enough but my own personal laptop was 15.6 inch and well I decided I wasnt quite ready to give up on a bigger screen. When I first unpacked it I thought that maybe I had made a mistake but no I really like it.I dont really use the tablet mode function but I do like tent mode for watching movies.the keyboard is really easy to type on and nicely spaced so that I dont feel like I have to use a separate keyboard and the mouse pad works well for me.the switch to chromebook has been relatively easy though. However I have encountered a problem with Nowtv, there is no app and I can no longer watch via the web browser as it wants me to download something but that appears to be mac or windows only. Not a major issue as I do have an ipad, just sometimes would prefer the bigger screen if I am watching in bed.I have yet to attempt to connect my printer but a google search told me its compatible so fingers crossed.Overall I am really pleased. The build quality feels good and solid, a little more plastic than I would have liked but then I am not really going to be transporting it anywhere on a regular basis. its weighty but feels fine to pick up and carry.

4GB RAM Version - Not suitable for light use
It's been a while since I've bought a laptop of any description new, and so I'll admit I was probably a bit out of touch with minimum specs in 2024. When my most recent ebay bargain gave up the ghost and stopped receiving updates, I was swayed by an offer and though this would probably do.I'm not a power user by any means - prone to leaving tabs open, and to reading/shopping while also watching YouTube or listening to Spotify, but nothing that should bring any decent everyday machine screeching to a halt. This chromebook looks very snazzy out of the box, but it couldn't cope. After a couple of weeks of constant freezes, forced shutdowns and glitching audio, I'm sending it back and refusing to cheap out quite so much on my next attempt.

Impressive and a good price
Initial thoughts: Far superior to the Asus Chromebook it replaced. Easy to set up although had to get rid of a stack of bloatware. Opening into tent configuration gives you a useable tablet. Fast, sturdy and with a good screen, this is very impressive for the price. A month later: Still running great with no problems. My wife uses this for simple web surfing, shopping and emails so not really stretching what can do but reliability is key.

Good.
Got these as quick and cheap computers to keep staff online at home after a power black out. They're fast and responsive, the tablet mode works great and we're generally really impressed with the quality for the cost.Obviously they're not for massive work, they don't have microsoft apps but if you're happy working on the web versions, you're sorted.
