I used to use a brand name of pon but it is so hard to get now so I started looking and found this mix of lava rock. It's perfectly sized and is perfect for my nearly 200 Anthuriums. Compared to the other pon that I bought, the price is great for this mix. I really like the color of this mix too. The pictures are a good representation of what you get. The only downside is the dust so it does need to be washed before use.

Make sure if your using these in an aquarium you rise thoroughly, I’m talking like 10 minutes of churning and dumping water out of a bucket, there’s a lot of dirt and dust. Other than that they are great besides a fair few rocks being red and not black.

(Photo is Beef tomatoes after almost a week from seed in the stones) The pieces are small fragments not small stone size which i thought would be a hinderance but i can fill my lil planters all the way to the top!They hold water great! Was able to keep moist and hydrate my seeds without overwatering over a few days at a time without adding any additonal water.They are dusty and dirty when arrived i cleaned them with water and vinegar and got alot of dust off with just a bowl and strainer.I wanted these over clay stones which would degrade and im happy with my purchas.

I ordered these lava rocks to put in a pot to help with drainage and one of my plants. But, these lava rocks are tiny and not the size accustomed to when using for indoor plants.

I love these colorful pebbles for raising some of my plants on pebble trays. My humidity love plantys seem like it a lot too. So, I fill my plant saucers with these pebbles and add water just enough to barely cover the pebbles, but not so much that the plant is sitting in water. They are tiny, and pretty uniform so this works really well. They can be a bit dusty, so definitely rinse if you're planting to add to water for hydroponics, or adding to the top layer of soil for pest combating.
