Is it expensive? Yes, but not any more expensive than other imported instant coffees that you'll find on the market from Europe or Asia. And it's cheaper than having to fly to Tanzania, where I first tried this coffee. The flavor of this is nice and deep, which makes it excellent for espresso-based drinks along with regular cups of coffee. Because it's part robusta, it has less acidity and won't trigger reflux like pure arabica coffees do. It also works beautifully in baked goods and desserts. It's a staple in my pantry. I'm mostly a tea drinker, but when I want coffee, Africafe makes a perfectly customizable cup for me that tastes pretty darned close to grinding and brewing it myself. Definitely tastier than what I can get at Starbucks.
