Love this knife! Its perfect weight, length is great not to long rocks back and forth when dicing without going to far, does not teeter either, came razor sharp right out of the package like a good knife should, and still kept its edge after cutting and slicing 50lbs. of potatoes and 25lbs. of carrots that I canned. Halved an acorn squash with ease and does not track off maintains straight all the way through even with melons. Diced basil and parsley without bruising it. And after a lot of use due to canning and cooking still slices a soft tomato right through without squashing it. Beautifully balanced and grip is right on, nice heavy spine and like the hammered look. Has the VG10 steel which speaks for itself. The bolster does not go all the way down so when the time comes to sharpen it (which the way its holding its edge isn't going to be any time soon) you can sharpen the entire blade. Has a heavy enough heal for squash and melons and does not "clunk" when cutting them. Comes with a nice bamboo case and bamboo pin which works great but I can see loosing this so will probably mount the case on the side of my block or glue a magnet to it to hang. The cutting board that came with it, well I got one of those a couple years back and also bought one for each of my 4 children and they also love it. After a couple years of use lightly sanded it and it looked like new again. Also has a nice solid handle that makes it feel very secure in your hand.

This knife is FANTASTIC! I have been using the same set of pretty nice knives for years but decided to give my self a treat. I am a pretty serious cook and chop lots lots of vegetables almost daily.This is by far the best knife I have ever used - the balance in my hand is perfect and the weight is perfect as well - it almost seems to chop the vegetables for you! I can easily slice things super thin - no more getting out the mandoline slicer. I already had one of the bamboo cutting boards and am very happy to have another - the first one is holding up better than any other wood or plastic cutting board I have owned and I have gone through a lot of them over the years. It is also the perfect size to fit over my sink when counter space is at a minimum. And then on top of that you get the nice bamboo sheath for the knife to keep it and you safe when the knife not is use. What a bonus! I highly recommend this product!

This is now my sharpest and favorite kitchen knife. I have used it on vegetables and meat, and it cuts through like butter. Time will tell if the quality will hold (I expect it will). The balance is nice, the hammered appearance is unique, and it comes with instructions on how to care for the knife. After buying this beauty, I plan to get a sharpening stone for my old knives and see how they hold up against this new one. So far, this knife is 10/10. It comes with a cutting board and a neat bamboo cover for the knife. There is a little wooden knob on the bamboo knife cover that took a little effort to remove the first time, but it has been fine since. I also love the cutting board. I used Green Chef cutting board oil right after removing the packaging, left it overnight, washed it in the morning. The board was very smooth as I spread the oil to the edges with my fingers. I thought I would encounter some surface irregularities that I would have to buff out like with other wooden boards. This came with a nice smooth finish. I was very pleased.

I have exactly one issue with this knife, but it's not enough to take away a star. The sheath that holds it, while neat, comes with this little pin tags intended to actually hold it in, so it doesn't fall out. I've used the knife for two days before getting annoyed and taking the pin out. Don't care if the knife slides out! It's just annoying. Now, the knife itself is fantastic. It's sharp, it cuts produce really well, it cut my finger in a way my painfully under-sharpened knives couldn't dream of. The cutting board is amazing. I've had another one for over a year, and I adore it. I used to use a glass board for meat, since I didn't want to "contaminate" the "good one" so to say, but my knives took a beating as a result. I now have a dedicated meat board and an everything-else board.

I’ve always had cutco knives, my chef knife broke and I sent it in for repairs, it’s been 2 weeks now and they haven’t gotten it back to me. I went on amazon, was looking for a new cutting board but saw this so I said heck, why not, might as well have 2 chef knives with all the cooking I do!! Got it today even though I just ordered yesterday! And I can tell you my honest opinion is that this is BETTER than Cutco. I’m absolutely blown away by the quality for such a great price too!! I was cutting zucchini and it didn’t even stick to the knife, just slid right off. The knife has little bumps on the sides and I think that helps things not stick. Probably says that in the description..to be honest I didn’t even read any of the features/descriptions..but I can tell you this is the best knife I’ve ever owned :) thank you for such a great product!!!

Got my cutting board (my third one) and knife today! Love how the knife felt in my hand. I was worried when I first saw it because it is big but it is weighed perfectly and so easy to use. I love the sheath that it comes with. I'm going to keep this knife busy in my kitchen!

After my first use of the knife I am quite pleased with the weight, balance, and sharpness. I am not familiar with VG-10 Stainless steel in a kitchen knife as I am used to using Wusthof, JA Henckel, etc. which are usually carbon based which is a softer, less shiny steel which takes an edge quickly. The bamboo sheath is kind of unique, but I am afraid the little pin that locks the knife in to the sheath might get lost. the Damascus method of blade making is a very old method, and I have only had one experience with that type of knife before. I am looking forward to using this quality knife for many years to come.

I was in the market for a new chef's nice - as I had been using a Chinese cleaver for all my kitchen needs. And, while the cleaver has been great, you may understand why there was a need for me to get back in the market. I have always loved products from Greener Chef - Their cutting board has been phenomenal, so when I saw this deal for a knife and board I had to get the product. The knife came in it's bamboo cover and boy was I surprised when I unsheathed the chef's knife. It was made with Damascus Steel which gives it a cool pattern and makes each knife very unique to itself. The knife came very shop and works hand in hand with their cutting board. The bamboo cutting boards help prevent dulling of the blade. Overall, I expect to use this knife a lot more for the next coming years. It feels really solid and has some weight to it, so you know you have a great product!
