I just bought a 7' umbrella to use with a monolight and didn't anticipate how much weight would I'd need to support for such a large (and long) umbrella. The monolight's built-in umbrella bracket was not going to work for this. This heavy-duty bracket is is metal throughout and I am confident I chose the best bracket for this task.

It works well in allowing flexibility of Softbox placement, and locks on firmly so it wont come off, but seems just a little wobbly and I would like to tighten it a bit. Im keeping it so overall its a win.

I did not expect this to be a sturdy as it is. Very well built!

I came to buy a second one and figured I’d leave a review while I was here. I’m super happy with this adapter! The lighting kit I got didn’t come with a large enough soft box to diffuse the light and the company claimed traditional soft boxes wouldn’t fit the led light so I had to resort to rigging something up myself. I went with the “U” shaped adapter so I could adjust the lamp and umbrella separately. It works perfectly! I can angle each in the direction I need them and can adjust how close and far the umbrella is from the light. I have 2 small boys that are always yanking and pulling on the lighting umbrella and lamp. I must say, the adapter itself is AMAZING for the fact that it’s held up so well around these two! It hasn’t budged in the slightest, even when they’ve dragged the entire lamp and stand across the room by the umbrella itself. Wish I could say the same for the light I use with it... I would recommend this specific adapter a thousand times over!

I'm repurposing this bracket to use to hold position my Fuji XT-1 camera. I also put an arca clamp on it. It is heavy duty and it has detents (kind of like ARRI Rosettes) every time you move the swivel. The tightening action acts just like a grip head for a C Stand, which is what I was looking for. It ensures that when you tighten the swivel, there's no way it's moving because of the force applied. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought this so I could use a soft box stand and my LED light panel and be able to tip it in any direction. It's built really well and has 2 different attachment pieces so you can adapt this to most any photo, studio stand.
