Treating period triggered bv, seems to work, tubes are a bit difficult to use
I'm one of those unfortunates who now gets bv every month, probably triggered by the period, and getting older (40 now). Mine occurs 10-14 days after the end of the period. I've also had an episode of bv continuously for a month, then none for 3. Docs (both female) couldn't be bothered to pinpoint the exact cause, so I thought I might aswell take things into my own hands. It's my body after all.The tubes aren't sealed individually, which made me a little apprehensive. As someone whose never used tampons (I just don't like the idea of putting something 'unnatural' inside), insertion was completely pain free and easy. But when you squeeze the tube there seems to be air pockets, so the old vjj was a bit, well, farty! Not painful, just a bit uncomfortable. When I release to adjust my hand to squeeze the rest out, the tube has a tendency to suck the gel back up again. What I do now is after the first squeeze, I take it out, adjust my hand and squeeze the tube so the gel is just coming out, then put it back in and empty as much of what's left. I like getting my moneys worth :pSomeone else mentioned a syringe type thingy instead of the tubes and, as a designer myself, I totally agree, it would make it a lot easier to get the full dose without the air pockets! This needs a better design. A few people have also had reactions to the gel itself, but thankfully I felt nothing, completely fine.Does it work? My bv doesn't have a strong odour, the main thing is the discharge. Note: I tried the gel as I got symptoms. After 2 days I still had discharge, after the 4th I didn't. I then stopped the treatment to see if the discharge would return, it didn't. I have 3 tubes left and I'm still discharge free a week later. That said, my bv is somewhat unpredictable, it can last the entire time between periods, or a week, or even through my period. It's different each month, so I'll try the treatment again at different stages of my cycle. Will update this review...BTW I also started taking probiotics recommended for BV, Lactobacillus Rueteri, and Rhamnosus (Bio-Cultures brand) a day before my period. Not sure if it's done anything, will see next cycle.

It Works
There are times when I start to itch or feel like something is happening down there but I'm not sure why or what. This stuff always fixes it. For those saying it burns, what I have found is that the closer your PH is to what it should be down there, the less it burns. There are times when I feel a little off and I use one tube and it barely causes any sensation. Then the problem is resolved and I don;t need all 7 tubes.Other times it burns like fire after applying a tube, and I know my PH was way off. Then it gets better each day I use a tube until it normalises. Evidently a normal vagina is a little acidic but an alkaline vagina allows nonspecific bacteria to grow and that is what this product is for.The burning is due to the acidic gel coming in contact with the overly alkaline vaginal bacteria. If your Vag is PH balanced, those bacteria can't grow and the gel feels neutral because its acidic PH is matching your acidic vaginal PH.For those who get a yeast infection from this product, that is because your problem wasn't being overly alkaline. Instead you were already too acidic and yeast grows in overly acidic vaginas. There is a fine balance and sometimes someone will swing back and forth over that line for a while and have to treat with this product, then next time a yeast product.I find that applying lavender essential oil to my privates each day prevents me having to use either type of product for the most part. But sometimes I still need to use this gel.

They did the what they say .
Easy to use and the effectiveness was quick in terms to resolving issues concerning my PH levels .If you follow the instructions then you don't have any stinging effects. I made sure I inserted this when I layed on my back and squeezed the tube further internally, this helped to prevent any stinging effects. The product does leak slightly the next day but nothing that will be noticeable. One use and any issues were resolved fast and effective.
