So very chuffed with this Simplehuman kitchen towel holder. I only question why on earth I didn't buy one sooner!I've had a couple of different holders in the past few years, but all of them (whilst doing the job of holding the kitchen towel) had issues that made them less than perfect. These included the kitchen towel slipping off the end of the holder, or one pull and you had about 6 sheets of kitchen towel hanging off that you needed to wind back on (unless you wanted 6 that is).This holder is a JOY to use. It holds the towel securely with a push button locking end piece that is super easy to remove and replace and it is designed to allow a one-handed method of tearing the towel off which is exceptionally useful ... and IT WORKS! So you can easily tear off one sheet if that's all you need. It holds the thick 'known brand' rolls easily as well. Fitted under the cupboard and it was easily done, although hubby takes the credit for that. Overall probably one of the best buys I've made in terms of being fit for purpose and usefulness. BE CAREFUL though, I initially ordered the longer holder by mistake so make sure what you are looking for i.e. what length of kitchen towel you will be using in it.

Really good kitchen roll holder. I have had this for 3 years and moved house and brought it with me. I have it screwed underneath the kitchen units as it is easier than drilling into the tiles, so it hangs down rather than sticks out. It fits even the large kitchen towel rolls which is really useful as I seem to use a lot and am always changing the smaller ones, having said that it is so easy just to pull the end off and slot another on it doesn't really matter. Although hanging from the bottom of the cupboard means you can't see much of it, it is a lovely brushed steel that looks good quality. I would recommend this easily.

Generally quite pleased with this holder. It’s robust and quite chunky’.I like the smart shiny chrome finish and the locking mechanism is well thought out.I’ve dropped a star for two reasons.Firstly, if you are fitting the holder to the underside of a cupboard be careful if you use the supplied screws as the screws are TOO LONG and they will probably screw through the base of the cupboard and penetrate the inside of the cupboard. I had to source shorter screws to do this.Secondly, the spring washer is a bit useless when the “usual” supermarket kitchen rolls are use which are around 21cm (eg Asda’s Shades Kitchen Roll). The rolls are not long enough to depress the sprung collar making it superfluous. I tried using a roll of white insulation tape to fill the gap (see photo), but to be fair I don’t reckon you need the sprung collar anyway; it doesn’t achieve very much. A bit of a waste of a roll of tape too.Overall it’s OK but it is a tad overpriced.

Bought this for the motorhome so we could leave the kitchen roll out without it unrolling as we travelled down the road and it works a treat.The one handed tear works great, new rolls are easy to fit and it has a very good build quality.

A sturdy device. Well designed. Looks good. Expensive but I treat myself.

If you want to buy a kitchen roll holder, then just buy one. This one. It's not the cheapest, however, the quality is first class.

This is a high-quality product that does exactly what it claims, holding a kitchen roll under gentle pressure so just one sheet at a time can be easily torn off without having to use both hands. It replaces my more-expensive one from a well-known store that didn't have a tensioning device and which resulted in half the roll unravelling every time it was used one-handed.The Superhuman one also has a distinct advantage over similar products in that it can be fitted any way up and any way round without affecting its operation. It's really solid and therefore looks a little bulky so, rather than mount it on a wall, I fitted mine under a cupboard - where it's discrete but readily to hand. It was simple to fit - just three screws keep it rock-steady. Replacing rolls, by removing the spring-loaded end cap, is quick and easy too.UPDATE, FEBRUARY 2014: This proved so good that we added another one on the opposite side of the kitchen - and, many months and many kitchen-rolls later, both are still in great working order. I still can't fault them!
