Great flavor
I've tried many and this is my favorite. A little spicy and refreshing mixed with a seltzer

Save your money
I recently tried an alcohol substitute elixir, and while it tasted fine, it completely failed to deliver on its promises. I expected it to provide a similar relaxed or flirty feeling to alcohol, but it didn’t give me the slightest buzz. For the price, which was comparable to a nice bottle of alcohol that would typically last me 2-3 months, this was a complete waste of money. It felt like I paid a premium for a glorified flavored beverage. I will not be buying anything like this again and can’t recommend it to anyone looking for an actual alcohol alternative. Save your money.

Be open minded
IF you are looking for an interesting drink that mimics an after-work drink or nightcap give a try once. Not exactly like an alcoholic drink, but on ice, it's not bad. Good with an icy tonic. Spicy, fruity, like an aprcot. So I'm going to enjoy the fact that I can drink something that's good for me. Pricey? Yup! All the more reason to enjoy it sparingly.

Tastes pretty good
This does not taste like whiskey, but it is flavorful with some bite. It is mislabeled as to the cost per oz, however. The cost per once shown is only 1/2 the actual cost per oz of a 16.9 fl oz bottle. It is very expensive.

It figures: the best one is also the expensive one!
I've tried 3 of the top-rated alcohol-free whiskeys and they've all been terrible (note that "top rated" means 3.5 stars out of 5, while other non-alcoholic beverages were coming in higher). I decided to try this because it was rated 4.5 stars and it fit the description of what I was looking for: a warm relaxer that I could savor at the end of the work week. The Old Fashioned is always my test to see if a beverage is any good, since you're essentially getting it without a mixer, so I followed the instructions that came with the bottle for 2 oz. with 5 dashes of bitters. It was good! If I thought this was a bourbon-based drink I would have guessed there were "other things" mixed into it to make it smoother on the pallet, but you still get the telltale warmth in the swallow. What I wasn't expecting is when I stood up, I got dizzy. Not sure if I stood up too fast or if the drink contributed to that- I guess more experimentation will bear that out. But, I was okay after sitting for a few more minutes. Note that this bottle is only 1/2 liter (16.9 ounces). Essentially it is the size of a bottle of water. So, yeah, it's pricey. But, my wife pointed out it's no more expensive per drink than some of the expensive whiskeys I've bought, and if it accomplishes what I was looking to do (replace my week-ending Old Fashioned with something non-Alcoholic), it works perfectly!

Good flavor, and really helps you sleep
Excellent flavor. I like to drink this straight, as a shot. It contains valerian root, which is what helps you sleep. You won't feel sleepy after taking a shot, but if you go to bed an hour later, you will sleep well. Valerian root usually smells awful, but not in this drink. You mainly taste the botanicals, which have a rich, strong flavor. Just understand, this isn't liquor and it's not supposed to taste like liquor. It tastes like a rich, strong drink.

This Stuff Is Horrible
Don't buy liquids from Amazon! The moment you open the bottle, you lose the option of return. This item is terrible, and I tried to return it and another item for the same reason. After the normal Amazon runaround, they told me it was nonreturnable. I would have done better buying it from a Costco, where I could have taken it back. That being said, this product is undrinkable, too expensive and it smells weird. The color is a muddy red color, and if nothing else, it'll cure your drinking problem because of its taste, or send you back to drinking alcohol because of its taste. Amazon and this product are two reasons to save your money.

Not whiskey but not good either.
I had no dillusions that any NA spirits product would taste like whiskey. But I was still expecting it to at least taste and smell good. Had a funky apple cider vinegar and herbal musty smell to it. Pours cloudy in the glass. Tastes mildly sweet without much depth. I've had root beer with more character. I don't know why companies insist that a pepper burn is a good substitute to real alcohol burn. Not what I anticipated. Not what they hyped it up to be. Not worth the same price as a bottle of alcohol. Try again.

Fünf Sterne, trotz des Preises

The nightcap drink is excellent. I think some of the reviews and ratings are a little unfair. Yes I do think it’s a little pricey but it definitely delivers on the euphoria I experience and I get a great nights sleep. The valerian root doesn’t always have an effect on some individuals but this is a great tasty alternative to alcohol any day of the week for me.

As a dedicated Whisky drinker I noticed recently that there arent many alcohol free options open to a malt fan. I decided to sample some of the options out there. 1st things 1st.... this is not Whisky nor intended as a whisky replacement. It is however a drink that can be poured into your fav whisky glass and enjoyed in an evening. My thoughts; On the nose, Gingerbread, earthy, roots xmas spice. 1st Sip, instant realisation of smooth mouthfeel, with burst of earthy gingery flavour Finish, an amazing Ginger afterburn, enjoyable, lengthy & more-ish. So that was my 1st taste of an alternative spirit, I have to say i'm quite impressed and poured several of these one after the other into my Glencairn. I am a big fan of sherried malt whisky and have tasted a vast range of pricey malts over the years. Keeping an open mind about alternatives seems an interesting area to explore. I realise that there will likely be a lot of reviews with people instantly disliking non alcoholic alternatives but I think if you keep in mind this is in a genre of its own, its not trying to be anything, in fact due to its plant based composition I think it really is verging into its own territory of drink. I should note that I had a great sleep the evening after sampling, something that this bottling markets as an advantage hence the name Nightcap, was that a coincedance? I dont know but the botanists who put this together seem to claim it assists sleep. I think my initial thought with purchasing somethings so different to my usual whisky tipple was this: Was I purchasing a bottle of juice? after my 1st sip and noticing the thicker consistency It definitely isnt juice, it feels more special, more luxurious. Overall I would say this is in a category of its own and tbh I quite like it. In fact im keen on trying the other products from this company. As with all things every individual will have their own taste preferences, I happen to really like Ginger so naturally I would warm to this drink due to its Gingery notes and mild afterburn.

Being a frequent weekend drinker with a busy work schedule I thought it was time to try something new that wouldn't leave me with a 3 day hangover. In summary, I'm sorry I bothered. The box for my 3 spirit drink arrived nicely packed in shredded brown paper. Holding it above my head to the light and looking through the dark glass I could see a dimly glowing mixture welcoming me in. Alas it was a Thursday and having work at 7am the next day I decided to hold off given the promised effects of feeling "A little floaty and flirty from damiana, tulsi and cacao that combine to lift spirits and reduce inhibitions. After three doses, you'll be the life and soul of the party." Saturday afternoon arrived so enough however and I had a BBQ planned. Finally no more hangovers I thought as I lifted the dark bottle down from my shelf and cracked open the seal. I tentatively poured out a shot into a tall shot glass and admired the dark pond water appearance. I then sniffed it and enjoyed the unusual aniseed aroma and drank it in one. The taste wasn't completely unpleasant, it was somewhere between sambucca that has been sitting in the sun for a while and prune juice but neither the less it wasnt great either. I continued to set up the bbq awaiting social excitement and lower inhibitions but after 10 mins decided that perhaps I needed to meet the recommended 3 doses so went back and drank 2 more shots. Half an hour later my friends began to arrive and I proclaimed I'd found the answer to our hangover problems proudly showing them my new bottle. Noone else wanted to try it. But knowing genius isn't always appreciated in its time I stuck to my guns having another 2 shots along with a burger. Eventually I felt a little upbeat - im not sure if it was the fact I was over half a bottle deep or a placebo given the sum of money I paid. So I took another shot for good measure. Unfortunately by 7 pm my friends were certainly much more merry than me so I decided it was time to finally call this experiment to an end and go and buy another tonic. Buckfast tonic wine it was called. As soon as that juicy nectar hit my tongue I rapidly became the life and soul of the party. The very effect I had been trying to achieve for the last 6 hours. And at a fraction of the price. Perhaps the Benedictine monks have divine intervention on their side - Im sad to say three spirits do not. Thanks for the experience guys but won't be trying again

I've seen a lot of reviews here, a lot of them bad and all the good ones only seem to focus on the taste. So I thought I'd write my own opinion here. I've only had two drinks so far, but I can already say it's something I like and find quite pleasant. There is a very noticeable change in my perceptions and feelings. It's marketed as something to make you feel more lively, which it may actually do when in the right setting. Almost immediately, that my visual perception had changed. I felt my visual cortex had become alive and I was immensely more focused on my visual perception and experience. Like I could stare and kind of meditate at a simple image for hours. I did it shortly before downloading a new computer game so I found it somewhat helpful in keeping me engaged long enough to understand the basics of the game. This would probably be good at parties if you're feeling a bit sluggish and want to correct that. Taste wise, I don't think it was that bad. It tasted a bit like Bloody Mary, but less disgusting. I don't think I've tried Bloody Mary before (maybe only once), but it's basically tomato juice, which is revolting. This probably tastes a bit more like Bloody Mary than tomato juice because Bloody Mary probably has other ingredients to make it sharper, like the Livener drink. It's a bit much to enjoy for anything other than special occasions, though. It's nice, but not something so powerful and effective that it'll last for ages and is really worth the money. It's a nice novelty gift for someone who likes feeling sober, but finds parties boring. I'm a recovering alcoholic, so this might be good for family meals.
