BulkPure Psyllium Husk Powder, High in Fibre, 500 g, Packaging May Vary

Use psyllium husk in my daughter's oat cakes in the morning every day. She doesn't taste a difference and we know it's contributing to a healthy digestive system.

This is a very economical way to buy this powder. The re-sealable bag it is supplied in is a must. There is also a measuring spoon in the bag.What surprises me Is that a lot of people don't know what they are buying, and leave various low reviews because of that.The quality is excellent. I could not be more pleased with it.The purpose of this particular product, or form, of psyllium husk powder is as a sort of dietary supplement. You can (with practice) add it to all sorts of things, and it will absorb something like 3000 times it's weight in water, so thickening whatever it is in. It is very difficult to take in a glass of water because it quickly turns the whole glass to gloopy gel. and it doesn't taste especially nice.The reason you want this is bowel health. If you suffer from runny stools, or constipation, it bulks out your poops with soluble fibre, making them a lots easier to pass, and a lot healthier because soluble fibre has all sorts of health benefits, including encouraging healthy gut flora and reducing blood cholesterol.I add it to my morning smoothie, and it does thicken it up if I don't drink it right away. It also makes it much more satisfying, so I feel full for several hours. I am hoping it also slows the absorption of sugar, but that is a secondary benefit.

Good product for fibre

I assume this is doing something beneficial to me, it's hard to tell really. I think the warnings about "throat blockage" is overrated, a scoop of it mixed into water doesn't do much beyond make the water brown, was expecting it to turn into wallpaper paste or something given the warnings. I mixed it into a protein shake and it made it taste gritty.Probably fine.

This powder is not flavorless. It has a very much noticeable taste that's hard to describe but is somewhat earthy. I can only use it in things that very much mask the flavor. It also majorly thickens whatever liquid you add it to. I like being able to add it to porridge, but I have to add way more liquid in order for the consistency to remain correct. Even then, items you add this to get progressively thicker the longer they sit. I'll finish the bag I have, but I don't think I'll buy this again

Brilliant product a lot better than others out there and definitely keeps things moving and comfortable lol I would 100% recommend

Some people say it clumps - well yes it does, but only because it is so finely ground - which is a good thing. A quick blast in my Active Blend and it breaks up completely, and mixes well with no settling. Very mild flavour. and not unpleasant, but easily masked with a dash of squash or great to add to a smoothing or protein shake, and will thicken it too. To thicken even more, leave for 5 minutes, then blend a second time. Great way to get some extra fibre into your diet, and a fraction of the cost of Fibogel.
