KEVA planks are expensive, so I wanted to make sure my son liked these before I splashed out. I figured at this cost it's no big deal if they never get used. Well, he absolutely loves them. And so do I!The reason why KEVA are expensive is because for the precision engineering. That's not found here, but for a 3yo that's nothing deal really. However you will find yourself wanting to build things and that's where you will start to get frustrated at the inconsistency in the pieces. It's fine for basic structures but advanced things need the precision.So grab these to test the water and splash out if all goes to plan. 50 quid for KEVA won't seem expensive if you know how many hours of play you will all get from them.

I bought these last Christmas for my son and also my brothers four children ages 8-14. It went down very well in their family, with both boys and girls. It has stimulated creativity, and can be played across multiple age groups. In our house, it gets used frequently and not just for building shapes, and structures, but garages for cars etc etc. I am about to buy a set for my sister in laws family of three boys this Christmas. And am also going to order another set for us. Although it stimulates creativity, it would also be good to have more ideas of possible structures included in the pack.

Don't buy these blocks and make the mistake that I did. The wood is poorly seasoned and the blocks are not accurately made, with the result is that the blocks are gently twisted and warped and slightly different in size. This means that any structure you make is wobbly and unstable. You can still have fun with these but attempt anything complicated and it gets frustrating.I have now bought the Kapla blocks instead and they are wonderful: straight, crisp edged, all identically sized and packed in a wooden box. Not much more expensive and five times nicer. (I have no connection with Kapla, I just want to stop people from making the mistake I made.)

This is great, my four year old is starting to use it quite a bit. it would be nice if there were another shape to use to reinforce a bit, like a post shape. But maybe I just haven't been creative enough with it. It's fine though because we have other blocks that we use for that. I would recommend!

i bought this product for my nephew who ideally wanted a tool kit etc! due to having much younger siblings i found this as an amazing safe clean use over and over again compromise. great product comes in a tidy away hang up bag. really great toy! not just for the kids!!!!
