LEGO Nexo Knights 70317: The Fortrex

I purchased this Nexo Fortrex set for my 9 year old son. He saw it originally in a shop and got so excited, but 80 felt like a lot to pay for a lego set. I found it on Amazons Warehouse deals for 60 and was really excited to get it at that price. I have bought from Amazon Warehouse before and usually the box is really beat up, but this one just had a puncture in the front which had been taped with clear tape.The Lego set itself is incredible value. We have bought a lot of lego over the years and the lego nexo sets is the first time I have not felt like I had paid a lot for so very little. My son loved the ninjago sets, so it was no surprise he took to Nexo. Nexo also comes in the form of an app game and tv show. The Fortrex itself can be mixed with Merloks Library 70324 to creature the front of a in situe fortress. I really like this - We've also got the Jestros Evil Mobile which mises with the Infernox captures the queen set. I have not seen this in Lego before - most of the sets I have seen are standalone and cannot be mixed in with another set in a way that makes sense. This feels so much more thought through.The set itself comes with 7 minifigures (Clay Moorington, Aaron Fox, Axl, Chef Eclair, Ash Attacker and 2 Scurriers), several stud shooters, disc shooters,Clay Moorington's grey sword and Techalibur, Aaron Fox's Blazer Bow stud shooter, Axl's Big Power Axe, Scurriers' spear and dynamite, and Ash Attacker's Magma Blade. There are loads of little accessories in the set - Book of Evil, Merlok 2.0 character, Techalibur sword, shooting target, robot trainer, ladders, tools,food, 3 helmets and Chef Eclair's chef hat! The castle walls open to show a round table, training area, prison, kitchen and so much more. The Nexo Powers you can scan in this set are Ground Pound, Super Human Speed, Hawk Holler, Chicken Power and Charging Attack. There are also 3 separate vehicles.The set feels so robust - like a fortress! It is such an impressive piece and is multifaceted - theres just so many different things you can do with this set. It took my 9 year old quite some time to put it together, but once he did he was so pleased with it. Having got it now, I am not as intimidated by the price of 80.00 - actually feel like I got quite the bargain to get this for 60! I do see it on offer often - It is definitely worth the price - if you're not completely sure its worth the money - take my word for it - it is such an impressive piece of Lego and there is so so much in it. You will not be disappointed

My son is currently crazy for the Nexo Knights lego and chose and bought this with his birthday money. We bought this when it was on special offer at £54.99 and at this price is great value. Great set with lots for your money (Lego is expensive and don't feel that you usually get much for the money but this set has loads). My son sat with the instructions over about 3 days and managed to build it on his own (he is 7). I would recommend buying.

My son (who is 5) thinks this is the best Lego set ever. He needed help from his dad and both him and his dad enjoyed building it together. My son has played with it for the past few weeks and has enjoyed showing me all the "cool details". As with all Lego sets it is expensive but I think you get a lot of kit for the money with this set.

Great Lego set, good features and figures. For the price, it's not as big as we had expected, but this did not compromise the fun my child had building and playing with the fortrex

Excellent set. Lots of moving parts, versatile and involved. Took my son a bit longer to put together which was great as he usually whizzes through even though this is marketed for 9+ he's a bit younger and was still able to complete on his own. Loved that is came with lots of mini figs too.

My just 8-year-old granddaughter has constructed this kit in a very short time. The box says from 9-14 so if you have a child who is deft at constructing these Lego kits then go for a higher age range than the child's actual age. That said this kit is like all Lego kits-well organised, straightforward to follow and stimulates a child's interest. The final product looks great!

Arrived half open

My eight year old loves this. He gave up toys for Lent and received this on Easter Sunday , he was delighted. He enjoyed building it and it is a firm favourite. Another great product from Lego !
