Very competent compressor
This compressor works well enough, they are simple things at heart so you get what you would expect. The controls allow you to use this as a boost if needed, and it can do the subtle note bloom thing too. Great value for money, can recommend this pedal.

Good, easy to use and nice and small, good price
I think it's great. The power socket on side which isn't ideal for me, most pedals have it at top. Bit noisy when used with overdrive but that's common with this kind of pedal as it boosts quiet notes but also quiet noise gets boosted aswell. I like the fact it remembers it's state, when it gets power again, so don't need to keep turning it on each time, I want it as a always on pedal to even out volume across playing and help those quieter notes to cut through. Seems to do a good job, the extra sustain is a nice bonus, nice professional sound.

Can’t do better for the money
Excellent. Simple and straightforward to use. Easy to find subtle but effective compression. It’s a robust metal box with a relatively big footprint on your pedalboard but the/in out jack position at the top is a winner. Buy!

Awesome
I have a gretsch, a PRS and a Fender Telecaster. This pedal improves the sound on them all through my Blackstar Amp. For the money this is Awesome

Great powerful tool
Looks good, feels sturdy, pretty clean (there are units with less white noise, more expensive ones) easy to use until you use tone print which is a great USP but I wish there were more constant reminders in lament terms of what does what... I understand basic compression but it can get confusing. Tone print is the future of TC Electronic, could do with little improvement for ease of use, that's all I am saying - it is SO powerful but at times I wasn't sure what I was doing anymore... User error!

Big
Does it's job well once you have taken time to understand and adjust the settings properly. Good value price. The pedal is larger than I expected though. Some competitors make smaller compressor pedals if pedalboard space is important to you. See photo for comparison.

My new best pedal!
Compression isn't instantly recognisable as a guitar effect like reverb, or chorus and at first it's difficult to hear what's going on. Normally we compensate or ignore variation in volume from individual guitar strings. The compressor takes the dry signal and makes the frequency response the same amplitude throughout the range. Also because it's working with the volume you can generate sustain. All of which means chords are more vibrant and single notes more precise, you appear a better player. What's not to like?!!There are 4 controls, Sustain is great, Level is necessary, but I'm not sold on Attack or Blend.Sustain is great. but be careful with single coil pickups, they can generate a LOT of noise as you turn up sustain. Humbuckers are better as by their nature they already have noise suppression, I can turn mine up to maximum.Level lets you set the output volume so when you switch the pedal in and out the volumes are the same, or not.Attack sets the compressor reaction time, short (anti clockwise) takes out some of the plectrum noise. I found set long (clockwise) I started to get momentary fluctuations in volume. I leave mine on short.Blend mixes your compression settings with the original dry signal, the smaller HyperGravity mini doesn't have the Blend knob which makes me wonder if I really need it?TonePrint is great on some of the other boxes, but a disappointing range of templates for this, all much the same.I would recommend anyone interested in a stomp box to check out the demos on U tube, however U Tube IS compressed already, so it's difficult to hear what's going on in the compressor vids!db

Amazing versatility
So let me start off by saying that I purchased this for use with a Roland TB-03 bass synthesizer and not a guitar, but I am completely blown away with the customizability of this pedal. I also love the fact that it accepts a line level input so that I can run my synthesizer directly into the pedal without adding distortion or losing any gain.I was looking for a multiband compressor to help situate the TB-03 in a live mix which, for various reasons too complicated to go into here, I can't run through the main mastering bus. A regular compressor would squash too much of the dynamics and I really just needed something to limit the resonant peaks when the filter is open and the flatten the really low bass when I remove the resonance completely. If you're familiar with the sound of a 303, you know it can vary wildly in volume as you sweep the filter and I found myself having to adjust the volume with one hand while I adjusted the filter with the other. Really inconvenient during a live performance. What's awesome about the Hypergravity is that I can use the software to perfectly dial in the type of compression I want and then customize the knobs to adjust it on the fly. It's basically like having a multiband compressor plugin from a DAW loaded into a pedal. I can individually control the threshold, ratio, attack, and release of every band for a completely tailored sound. This is exactly what I was looking for!I set the sustain knob to control just the high end threshold setting and kept all the other knobs at their factory settings and now I'm able to perfectly dial in the amount of high end reduction that I want to hear. By adjusting the blend, I can bring in more or less midrange and bass from the original signal and now I almost never need to adjust the volume of the 303 while I'm adjusting the filter. It's perfect for my dawless setup. While I'm not using this for a guitar, it seems like this would be a great pedal for people who really like to dial in custom settings. It took me maybe 10 minutes to learn the software and get comfortable with it. If you're not already familiar with using compression, I could see there being a bit of a learning curve here and maybe preferring something that just works out of the box, but if you're like me and have been using mastering compressors for years, it's very straightforward. I basically set all settings to zero/off and then began slowly bringing in the effect until I got it where I wanted. Turning off the autogain setting was absolutely necessary, as one commenter has noted. If you're at all concerned about the limitations of this pedal, don't be! It's extremely customizable and versatile if you're willing to put in the time.
