This is an amazing guillotine if you’re looking to trim down various bits of paper or photos etc. home use is recommended but could also keep up with small business needs. I’d say the quality is fine, quite light weight so easy to move around without strain. However the lack of weight does mean you need to hold it in place when using the cutting blade. But what it lacks in some minor areas of stability this item gains in usability and quality. A definite value for money purchase that will deliver clean cuts and plenty of them! Blade is sharp and cuts easily, a rotating blade as opposed to the standard straight razor type, which means there is less snagging and creasing of whatever it is you’re cutting. When cutting, please account for half a mm or so and feed this extra through to the side you want cutting off to make for the perfect cutting measurement as this is likely the width of the blade. 100% recommend this for all of your casual straight cutting needs.

Brand new, out of the box Let's start with job performance: One sheet of thin computer paper it coped ok with. So I tested one sheet of thin card and it got chewed up all along the edges. Tried again, same result. And again.... you get the idea. Please note this was thin card and should have been trimmed easily enough (especially with the manufacturer claims) but it doesn't. If you want to trim cheap printer paper one sheet at a time then go for it. You may be ok. Anything else, don't waste your money. Totally regretting this purchase. It is a complete waste of money. Functionality and Ease of Use: I should also mention: there are a couple of sheets stuck to the trimmer also that cannot be removed and mess with the functionality and ease of use of it. Accuracy: awful Speed: if you want chewed up paper, then I would say it works very fast I would give zero stars if I could.

Solidly built but blade is blunt. It cannot cleanly cut a single page of 160gsm paper.

Although I wouldn't call this paper trimmer "heavy duty", it seems to be solid and well constructed, and sells for a very reasonable price. The blue platform is stamped steel, the silver track bar appears to be aluminum, the cutting edge and cutting wheel are steel, and the black parts are plastic. It can handle sheets that are 45 cm (18 inches) wide, and can easily cut several sheets of paper at the same time. Imperial, metric and angle guides are printed on the platform, along with the name "Cathedral Products", which appears to be a company in the UK. I have only used it a few times so far, but these included cutting card stock (business cards), and all the cuts were precise and clean. The clear paper clamp allows you to firmly hold the sheets in place while you run the cutting wheel along the cutting edge. My only concern is that I wasn't able to find out if the cutting wheel is replaceable. For occasional home use, I expect that this won't be an issue. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this paper trimmer.
