Easy to use and great fun!
My partner and I decided to attempt a belly cast a few days ago, as I'm now approaching 38 weeks pregnant and we didn't know how much time we had left! The kit is very easy to use and comes with everything you need, including an 'idiots' version of instructions, which to me is always best as some instructions can really over complicate things. The process itself was a little messy, the powder from the bandages does tend to go everywhere (including all over our dogs) ha but nothing that you can't clean up afterwards.Overall the experience was really fun and my partner and I had a great time making the cast, it dried really quick and peels straight off your skin when it's set, which made it so easy to use. I would definately recommend for anyone!

Well worth it even if it's just for the laughs!
This product is amazing. My best friend and I did it while I was 38 weeks pregnant. We laughed so much she was worried that I would go into labour! You definitely need a helper to apply the plaster and as long as you follow the instructions the cast is very easy to remove (It comes away from your skin as it starts to dry) We found that cutting smaller strips was easier and that if you leave a few strips once you have done the cast you can reinforce any areas that need it once it is dry.The cast looks brilliant painted and it is bizzare holding it up against yourself once you have had your baby to see how big you were!Brilliant absolutely brilliant!

It's a miracle!
Fathers to be: are you worried about the impending burden of fatherhood? Fretting about your imminent penury, loss of freedom, accelerated baldness and years of sexual abstinence? Now, will these entirely justified fears be temporarily assuaged by lathering your heavily pregnant partner in vaseline and covering her in warm plaster? If so, look no further: this kit is for you. Do it late enough in pregnancy, and it's quite possibly the last intimate moment you'll have with your loved one before your cosy, self-centered world is irrevocably shattered. There will naturally be some mess but it's a highly satisfying process and the end product can be very good if you have opposable thumbs and follow the instructions.Once completed, you will find that the vast amount of leisure enjoyed by new parents will give you all the time in the world to wonder what on earth to do with a life sized plaster belly, and it's guaranteed not to end up on top of a cupboard gathering dust until your beloved spawn is old enough to have one of their own.

Messy, but worth 40 minutes of time for a good keepsake.
Despite what the instructions say, you need two people to do this!!It's a good idea to measure the strips before you apply any water - again ignore the instructions and measure by hand as it's just easier. When ready, make sure you have plenty of water on hand, and make sure you wet the strips completely - it's best to do at least two strips all the way over, and I'd also suggest an extra strip near the edges of the cast to add strength once dried. But before you start, make sure you've prepared the surface area (ie the pregnant lady!) with lots of vaseline or similar - this allows you to remove the cast once completed and it's a mare to get off when you missed a bit. There is plenty of plaster bandages so loads left over, but as soon as you start then it begins to dry in about 15 minutes so be quick! It's very messy when doing it so make sure you've plenty of towels down or it will get everywhere. You'll also get it all over your hands. Prise it off on the dryest part and hopefully it should just come off the skin without any problems. The cast looks okay when dry - you need to find somewhere dry to store it for a few days as this allows it to strengthen. It takes up a lot of space, but it's a good keepsakeRecommended.

Very messy and great fun!
When this arrived i couldnt wait to try it out. I read the instructions and learned that the manufacturers were not british as the instructions were written by someone with english as a second language. They were easy to understand though and i particularly laughed when my breasts were referred to as "udders". This is really a 2-man job and with the help of my husband, we spent half and hour getting very messy with plaster of paris! I did a couple of touch ups the next day but that was more our inexperience than problems with the product. The one problem i did have was taking off the plaster once it was dry, it was rather painful as my skin wanted to come off with it! so useful hint: use plenty of vaseline! Overall I am very happy with the result and am looking forward to decorating it!

If you get dizzy easily/struggle with standing too long be careful
We had to stop halfway through, so disappointed as I think it would have worked really well and I was really looking forward to it. I went very dizzy and had to get it off me and sit down. I’m not sure if it was the standing up or the pressure. I thought I was going to faint. It was a very similar feeling to when you go dizzy during a scan from being on your back. I get that at every scan so I don’t know if my body is more sensitive to things like that. I don’t think it’s the products fault. I definitely think it would have worked & looked good- so disappointed. I just panicked and didn’t want to faint and fall on my stomach. Maybe be careful if you are sensitive to things like that. I’m 39 weeks so I don’t know if I maybe left it too late as well.

so much fun and looks great!
this actually came out a lot better than i expected after reading some of the other reviews. it hasn't cracked at all and looks great! you definately need two people to do it though but it's great fun aswell! it does make a lot of mess (but i think that's part of the fun) so make sure you do it somewhere you can clean up easily. also make sure you're in a comfortable position because it will start to get a bit uncomfortable because you can't move or it'll ruin it. mine looks perfect, i'm so pleased :)
