Great little puffer
I purchased the Blagdon 1800 for my small pond, it came with a very long cable, but as appears to be the law in this country I had to fit my own mains electric connector. Primarily I use the Blagdon to aerate a 50 gallon fluidised bed with media. It is powerful and quiet in operation and I have made a protective shelter for it to stand in as outside by my pond, without protecting it did suck in dampness which was evident in the air lines.I uses all six of the oygenator air lines to aerated the fluidised bed and this it does with ease, and I am delighted with the results. Blagdon even supply spare parts, and seasonal service kits should you need them, so I anticipate having some years use.Overall a compact and powerful oxygenator/air pump.

Excellent choice!
The media could not be loaded. A great bit of kit! Does as it says!SO much quieter than the one it replaces and much better is waterproof so can be left uncovered. Feels heavy and well built.Almost silent in operation!Paired it with black singing air pipe as there’s nothing worse than floating white ones!We have happy Koi again! 🐟A great buy!

Strong pressure and can get spares
This is my 3rd air pump ... the others were other makes that wore out inside of 2 years each but couldnt be serviced. I like that you can get replacement diaphragms for this one so hopefully it will last a lot longer. Very good pressure. Solid.

Best weatherproof pump I could find
My pond is 5,000 litres so I purchased the basic 1800 model, which is rated for 10,000 lites ( or 5,000 if you have Koi, which I don't), so it was massively overrated for what I needed. That said, it was just about the only one I could find that was totally weatherproof. I declined the option to buy air stones and tubing with the order and instead went to my local aquarian to get advice. In the end I opted for 50mm air stone balls, some decent tubing that won't go brittle in winter and some inexpensive one-way valves on each airline as a precaution against a power failure, which can occasionally a pressure differential to syphon water up into the pump. I only use 4 of the 6 outlet points and the surface of my pond now has a healthy amount of movement. Within days the water was so much clearer, the fish became much more active and my pond plants thrived, particularly the lily pads and the water mint.Despite it having rubber feet, the pump can resonate on the wrong surface. I placed mine on a small slab on top of a shallow mound of loose sand/earth mix, which seems to absorb everything and I can barely hear a thing. Really happy with this pump, my pond looks so much healthier and I would recommend it to anyone.

Plenty of bubbles
I've used a couple of air pumps for my 1500 litre koi pond, but this one surpasses everything else that I've had so far.Simple to wire into my switch box, a good length of cable allows me to place the unit strategically out of sight. I use a single disc air stone, although I want to try four smaller round stones to provide air into different parts of my pond. As it stands, the unit is very quiet, in fact I can't hear it even from just a few metres away. The bubbles are intense from the single stone sitting about a metre below the surface. Plenty of fine bubbles rising through the water to pop as they drift across the surface. The water is not agitated too aggressively and doesn't cause waves in the pond. The fish don't seem to flinch as they move around although I think the stream of bubbles is probably too strong to swim though. My intention is to use it from March through to October, then use a smaller 340l/h for the winter at a shallow depth just to keep the water fresh and stop it from freezing. So far, I'm very impressed, especially during this hot spell of May 2020.
