Good product
Have a pair of these plugged into a Sonos zone player. The sound quality is very good, without being spectacular. For the price point, I would say they represent good value for money. Plenty of bass and generally, the range is very good.Had them installed by a professional. It looked straightforward and they blend into a white ceiling very well. One consideration on placement - unless you have a lot of insulation, they can be quite audible in the room above, so if you do have some flexibility as to placement try to put under a hall, cupboard, bathroom etc.

Great quality ceiling speakers.
Having redesigned my living room it meant I could no longer use the large bulky freestanding speakers I use for the rear 5.1 surround sound system I have and I needed an alternative. I decided ceiling mounted speakers might be the answer. Quick check on line and these are rated as some of the best you can get, so I bought a set.Installation really was easy once I identified where the ceiling joists were. The speakers come with templates so I offered them up and drew the speaker hole onto the plasterboard. I then drilled a pilot hole then used a plaster hand saw to cut the holes out. Nice and easy. I used an electricians fishing rod pole kit to feed the speaker wire through to the speaker from a hole I had drilled near the wall. Connecting the wires to the speakers is easy as they have push contacts. You then offer the speaker up and using a small philips bit in a drill slowly tighten the 4 mounting screws up. This pulls a self locking peg out and tightens the speaker against the ceiling. The speaker really does sit very flush to the ceiling and you dont really notice it.Sound quality after I did a re-calibration on my Pioneer amp is really quite impressive, certainly well worth the money. i just wish id bought another set now to add 2 middle speakers to the system... i may still do.

Very good - so I bought another pair for the bathroom. Easy to install too.
I bought these for the kitchen and had them professionally installed. Some months later I bought a 2nd pair for the bathroom and did a DIY job. VERY easy to install in a plasterboard ceiling (drill around the supplied templates and finish with a small platerboard saw). Remove grill, insert in ceiling and drive 4 screws home on the lugs to locate in ceiling. Replace grill. Job done.Performance is very good in the kitchen and bathroom - although probably a bit too big for the bathroom. At the price probably the best you can get. I'm not sure spending any more would give better quality for this type of speaker.

Excellent, very pleased indeed
Bought 2 sets of these and tested them whilst not in the ceiling as I was waiting for the ceiling to be done and they sounded okay. Now the ceiling is done, I am very surprised how good they sound. They are very limited bass wise, but that is to be expected which is why I also bought a Sub Woofer. So with these speakers and my Sub, I have a very nice sound in my kitchen diner now, so very pleased indeedInstallation was very easy, and they look great and all my mates that have been round think they both look and sound excellent.

Excellent
Bought 2 sets of these speakers to fit into the ceiling of my lounge. Very "wife friendly" and look great.Rigged up to a Yamaha DSP 5.1 surround sound system and a 3m projector. Watching films now is awesome.Really easy to install. Make a cut into the ceiling (I had professionally done and skimmed) then put into the hole and turn 3 pins to hold in place. Can be used with or without the white covers. Definately looks better with white grills as they become part of the surroundings.Great sound. I use with a M&K sub-woofer and when hooked up to spotify or a decent CD player the sounds is very realistic. Also child friendly - no coffee ever going to be spilled on these ;-)Buy!

Excellent and no need for my old subwoofer
Bought these to fit in the celling replace a couple of really good Goodmans shelf speakers when we we refurbished our kitchen. I ran the shelf speakers with a half decent subwoofer, off a pretty good Lepai 2.1 amp which is still use.I was wondering where to put the subwoofer in the new kitchen, but once I wired these Polks up, the sound was wonderful - warm, rounded, crisp and space filling - all without the sub! In retrospect, I could have done with my ceiling being a little higher and/or the speakers a little closer together - but altogether very happy.

Great Installation Speakers
Firstly the reality is that fitting speakers into a ceiling of a kitchen is clearly not an audiophile act and I don't expect that level of musical quality. With that caveat in mind what I can say is that these are great for the application I used them for. Sound quality is excellent and far louder than I'll use in normal day to day usage. They are discrete and almost flush which was a pre-requisit given that my kitchen is fairly low in height. The build quality is high and they have a nice 'weightiness' about them that suggests this. Of course Polk is a well known good quality brand and I expected nothing less.I use these with a middling TEAC multizone amp and really can't complain given the price and installation.

Great speakers but over priced
These look and sound great but they are twice the price as on Amazon.com - I bought 3 more sets in the US!
